Gary and Sue make too much Stew

Note: I will be naming both Mary-Sues and Gary-stues as Gay-stues for the purpose of saving time, unless I am specifically naming one or the other.

What is a Gary-Stu?
A character who
A.    has too much power or skill
B.    All the answers
C.    Always gets their way
D.    Never loses
E.    And usually bases on a Cannon-Character with added powers and looks.
F.    Is TOO attractive
G.    No weakness
Problems?

Each of these has something that can but not necessarily makes the characters stues.

A.     POWERS?
When a character has a huge amount whatever types of powers, they can seem annoying and obnoxious. When Rping, if the characters have a power for everything, it is extremely unfair. If one character captures another in something made of fire, then all of the sudden the character has water powers and destroys it, or also has fogo powers, it ruins the RP.
If the character just has the power of water in the first place, that does not make them a stu, even if they are hiding it. They can have tons of POWER but they shouldn’t have tons of POWERS. It’s generally okay to have infinite amount of chaos energy, but when someone has also light, darkness, time, space, ect. It goes too far.
B.    All the answers
This doesn’t happen all the time mainly, but there are times when for some reason the character knows everything about the other character, but never says why. And why is that? Because the people that are rping that character don’t have an answer and just want their character to look cool.
Having psychic powers to do something like that is alright. It can be annoying, but it’s not a bad thing.
Another way to “have all the answers” is in the following example.
Example: One character gets injured with a special “demon” poison, then no one but their own other character can heal it. If the other people’s characters try it doesn’t work, and usually some voice says something like “ha ha ha. Failures.” Which really bugs me. The characters are there for a reason. LET THEM HELP!
C.    Gets their way.
Now I don’t see this all too often in heroes, and only sometimes with girl characters, but with VILLAINS, it, is, so, annoying!
Most of the time this type of thing happens is when out of the blue a aleatório villain appears, acts SUPER VAGUE, then tries to kidnap another character. Here’s what’s wrong with what happens next.
1.    THE CHARACTERS ARE NEVER ABLE TO STOP THE VILLAIN!
2.    THE VILLAIN ACTS SO VAGUE STILL!
3.    THE CHARACTER GETTING TAKEN USUALLY SAYS SOMETHING LIKE “I have no choice.” Or “I have to. It is my destiny”. There are times when that’s happened and I just make my character say “Well then good for you *blasts kidnapped character* I hated you anyway”. Again, LET THE CHARACTERS HELP!!!!
D.    NEVER LOSING!
Either Villain or hero, Stus never lose. Especially with attacks. Things like *Shoots energy beam at you* are okay, but I see a lot of *kills you with energy beam* or *slices off your head and it doesn’t come back* or *beats up your character* and even *your character is impressed* and other ways where they try to control your character. IT’S NOT FUN! You do that, and people are going to hate you so much. What if the character would get stronger from that energy beam? Nope, can’t happen. “I already said it killed you. You can’t say it made you stronger”. People control how their characters react and if they get hit. Let them decide. Unless you are close enough to go *drills faca into stomach* then you can’t just say *throws faca into your stomach from a mile away* SO REALISTIC -_-
E.    There’s been Dilver, there’s been Bluckles, There’s been Blonic. I wish THOSE were the characters we had. At least they’re actually funny. But no. We get people like Silver #2, who has Shadow’s powers too, but looks JUST like Silver. WHAT A TWIST! Now I’m not hating on Clones of characters. If you’re cloning Sonic, or even doing a Silver #2 deal, it’s not BAD exactly, but it isn’t original. There are some characters that can pull it off like Starlight, but usually it doesn’t end well. If they have the same powers, then don’t make them LOOK like Silver or Shadow or Sonic. Just because you’re fast doesn’t mean the character has to be called “Sonica” or “Sonia”.
F.    I personally amor to make attractive characters. And making beautiful girl characters, or hot-dudes isn’t a bad thing when it’s a picture, but when rping it gets annoying when they say *You character blushes*. I personally have in my THIEF RP done something LIKE that.
“If your character is a guy, this would mainly be surprising, seeing how Kenfi is actually quite pretty, and rather non-thief-looking.” Notice I didn’t put “Your character blushes”. I could have, and in this case it wouldn’t be SO bad, but it’s still annoying. The point of this line I used was to emphasize that the surprise of someone finding out that the person trying to kill them turns out to be this beautiful aleatório girl. I know what you might say. “But you said that she’s beautiful. Some people might think she isn’t.” And you could say that, but I have actually been told that Kenfi is VERY attractive-looking por people, which helped me wager what I would do with this. So in short, you can make their eyes sparkle, you can make their hair shine, you can make their muscles huge, but let the people your rping with decide if they want to blush or not.
G.    Characters without weakness
Oh, My, Flagnob. Characters without weaknesses. Picture your character is trying to run away from an evil character. The evil character stu-ports your character to them, so your character tries to attack, but no matter what you use the STU just goes “HA HA HA! Pathetic! That can’t hurt me! I’m immortal”, which is really annoying. Also people go “*head grows back*” and such, then says “I’m immortal”. Here’s something you might want to know. IF YOU’RE IMMORTAL YOU SHOULDN’T BE ABLE TO GET HURT IN THE FIRST PLACE! I hate immortal characters. I have characters that are like that where they can’t be physically harmed, but even then you can make a weakness.
Example: Dimension 4 is a mobian core, so he cannot be physically harmed. He CAN however be drowned, or die in o espaço to an extent because he still needs air. Make your characters have a weakness that isn’t just some aleatório song only one character knows about and only one character can use (No offense, Sara).

Now there’s one last thing I’d like to mention here. Demon characters. I know I’ve said it before, but SERIOUSLY guys, WHY SO MANY OF THEM!?!?
1.    Demons are evil! THEY AREN’T GOOD! THEY CAN’T TURN GOOD! THEY’RE anjos TURNED TO THE DEVIL FOR PETE’S SAKE! STOP MAKING THEM GOOD-GUYS UNLESS THEY STOP BEING DEMONS!
2.    THERE ARE SO MANY! Now even if I wasn’t upset about demons in general, it would still annoy me that people use so many of them. We’ve got Demon-hybrids, demon-based-species, demon-demons, demon-forms, DEMON SONIC WAS A FAN-BASED SUPER FORM! IT’S NOT REAL! Is that what started all this? Because if it did, that just fits. Use other things. I almost NEVER… I’VE NEVER SEEN AN angel CHARACTER YET! WHY DO WE HATE PURITY ALL OF THE SUDDEN!?

So that’s my list of stuness. I know a lot of people are going to hate on this and disagree, but I think you can at least agree with some of it.

In short, just try to think of things that would make the rping fun, not ways to make your characters cool. Make weak characters once in a while. It’s really fun to be honest. I’ve got normal mobian characters that have NO powers whatsoever, and no special skills, and they have SUPER large rolls in my fan-fics.

COMPLETELY Realistic roleplays on our club are almost impossible, or at least in the sense that was talked about. Now that isn’t to say that there aren’t some very realistic sobrenatural roleplays; as long as you can scientifically explain it, or por other means explain it, then it’s technically realistic to an extent, but I suppose down-to-earth is mais accurate a description.

This means roleplays that aren’t all high-scale and full of powerhouses; roleplays where you can interact with characters that don’t have sobrenatural abilities (or a small amount) without feeling dwarfed.

Chapter two
(Sept 10th Wednesday)

It was the seguinte day, and Grace had already found something to do. During gym a boy that she heard others call “Slice” quickly became an enemy. He was a grey hedgehog, scrawny, with no hair, and a… free-spirit. Grace was about to go attempt some volleyball-playing when Slice walked up… and let out the contents of what reminded her of Rynk’s portrait all over her, stomach down. Usually one would apologize, or just collapse. But he just laughed then ran off, as he began to feel another outburst of lunch comida erupting.

Personally Grace wouldn’t have cared...

Now, naming characters is hard, I'm gonna admit that, but hopefully this is an artigo on how to help you with that.

1. Relevance to Nationality and the Era they Were Born in

What nationality is your character? (If your character doesn't have a nationality, just ignore this) Are they Chinese, English, American? What names are mais likely to be used in these areas? When were they born? What were the popular names of the time?

And easy answer to all these perguntas is research, and research is fun, there are plenty of baby naming sites, and records of popular names throughout time.

2. aleatório Words...

I plan on making a Mary Sue/Gary Stu test for everyone here. The way I will be doing it is you will check off whichever things portray to your character, and the resulting number will determine how stu-ish they are.

HOWEVER the difference with this one is that not only will there be things to check off to decrease the amount, AND there will be respostas which count as mais or less points than others, BUT IT WILL ALSO have secondary check-lists for those who DO have those attributes but not because they are stu-ish, but based on actual facts told to them por other users.

An example is “Does almost...
