"To defeat monsters, one must become a monster."

What do you think about that quote?

Personally, I think it is a steaming pile of *****ing **** that is just an excuse cowards make. Still, I want to know what everyone else thinks because people seem to like that kind of stuff in TV/movies/anime/etc etc

I think that... you're right. It's an excuse to become a monster.

I think it can be true in some cases, but I don't think it's a 'must'.

No, not become a monster, but I think we need to try to get into his frame of mind to be one step ahead of him in his thoughts. Becoming the monster is only being on equal terms with him - a stalemate. Understanding his thought process and retaining our morals, would defeat the monster.
