Harry Potter.
Do it.

Also...

His Dark Materials (Golden Compass is the first.) They're anti-religious, and do have those undertones, but good.

Mortal Instruments por Cassandra Clare.

Dracula por Bram Stoker.

Hunger Games trilogy por Suzanne Collins.

Graceling por Kristin Cashore.

the Thirteenth Tale por Diane Setterfield.

Lord of the Rings trilogy por JRR Tolkien.

the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy por Douglas Adams.

Ender's Game por Orson Scott Card. Don't read past the segundo or third though, since they get worse as they go.

Life of Pi por Yann Martel.
