composição literária Pergunta

What are some alternatives to cursing?

I know it's pretty normal to curse, but I personally do not curse at all. I have very strong moral convictions that will not allow me to. I don't want to make all my characters little anjos becasue of this.

I'm okay with implying, but I don't want to actually write out any curse words.

Please, if you had to eliminate curse words in your stories, how would you do it?

I'm not really looking for substitute words. I do want them to say real curse words. i just don't want to say them myself. but thank you still. You guys are helpful.

i don't like cussing either but those are great alternatives in my story I'm running into the same problems mine takes place in war times so its hard not to use a little cussing one thing that can help is looking at old filmes and sitcoms like the Lucy shows etc. since the sensors were so strict it is really helpful to find cussing alternatives

I am the same way, believe it or not. Because of my morals I don't curse at all. But I don't want my stories to seem cheesy or my characters too perfect. So usually I just imply that they are cursing, or use words that I would use in that situation. A thesauras is a really good tool to use too....just a suggestion.

I don't like to curse either. but I change the words around or replace them with different words like "Oh, my daises!" Heehee. Or fudge. Or you could even write "so-and-so swore" instead of actually composição literária the word.
Hope I helped.
And here's a aleatório picture for you...

You could also just say that they cursed in 3rd person. For example.

'He cursed under his breath.'
'She blasted him with a barage of expatives.'

Hope that helped :)

I've had the same issue! Plus my story is meant for 9-15 years old, 9 ano olds don't swear, but one of the characters is a curser.

I say stuff like "Marty cursed as the man stepped out of the shadows".

You can always use things like "Fudge" or "shitzhu". Or invent your own cuss words!

Maybe you can say something to the extent of:
"He swore under his breath"
"A stream of profanities flowed from her"
Maybe instead of saying F***, say "Effin"
Maybe instead of saying S***, say "Aw, crap!"
Maybe instead of saying B****, say, well, some other insult which isn't a curse.

Good luck with this :)

If it was me I'd say something like "He used a word that should not have been said in front of the younger children" "She muttered something rude under her breath" etc.

Just say stuff like "they swore under their breath." or something like (at this point he called him something that made Hermione go "Ronald!") just do what J.K Rowling does.
