I've never been able to enjoy a Stephen King novel. I've tried but I just don't like his books. Koontz, on the other hand, I used to be obsessed with. I haven't enjoyed his more recent novels as much as I did his earlier ones but I still think he's a great writer.

Of all the books I've ever read, the ones from the Stephen King were by far the best-written in terms of modern literature, and the most enjoyable.
