Color:
Think about it. If this is a bag you are going to use every day, then you want it to match what you are wearing. Or maybe you don't care. And if not then go ahead and buy that bright laranja bag! But if you do care, then think about getting a color that will go with everything like black, gray or brown.
Material:
This depends on what you like. Leather is classic but hard to clean. Fabric gets dirty easily. Synthetic leather could be the easiest to clean, but is sometimes looks really cheap. Leather will be mais expensive if it is real.
Big or Small:
This depends on what kind of girl you are. Do you bring everything with you when you leave the house (make-up, MP3, books, phone, notebook, etc) or do you just bring your phone and your keys? This will be the deciding factor to if you need to go big or small.
Long strap or short:
If you are going to carry a lot of stuff around with you then you should probably not go with a long skinny strap because it will cut into your back. If you re really active and don't plan to carry much around with you then a long thin strap will be the best bet.
Make sure you think about the above before you buy, or you will have a closet full of boring purses that you never use
