Chapter 1


It was late afternoon. Flamingleap, an laranja fogo elemental dragon, was hunting for the tribe, with no luck. He'd been hunting since dawn and caught nothing. Snow crunched beneath his big feet. Just when he was ready to give up he heard the screech of an eagle. He jerked his head up. The eagle was only a few feet from his face and it was the size of his head. It would feed a few dragões if it was dividido, dividir equally. Flamingleap reached and snapped his jaws on the eagle's wing. It flapped in a desperate attempt to escape. Flamingleap jerked his head, killing the eagle. “the clan will be glad I caught this with prey being so scarce.” Flamingleap thought as he flew back to the cave where his tribe lived. When he got there the other dragões were admiring his catch. “how did you do it?” a tiny gray hatchling peeped. “yeah, it's huge!” a white hatchling agreed. “stop pestering him with questions, any dragon could've caught it!” Drippingice, a white she dragon with light blue streaks, snapped. “yes mom.” the gray hatchling muttered, walking back to the nursery cave. The white hatchling followed, her tail drooping. “hatchlings these days!” Drippingice exclaimed. “impressed por the smallest things!” Flamingleap nodded in agreement. “they need to learn some manners.” Flamingleap walked away and picked up a hawk from the prey pile. He ripped off a wing and gulped it down. It was stale but would do. He finished it quickly with huge, hungry bites. He glanced at the rest of the prey pile. It was pitifully small. They had to bring back mais prey or dragões might starve to death. Flamingleap shuddered. He wasn't going to let that happen. He would hunt all night if he had to, just to save the lives of his tribemates.
