@ThisDiscussion tbh I think this all got out of hand and all? But I made my statements underneath my answer so if you wanna see the longer version go there

Yeh, if you, instead of insulting people for posting 'wrong' answers, would maybe laugh with them about the jokes or just ignore them, the discussions would turn out better for anyone. And I also agree that if you want serious opinions, better ask the same pergunta on debate club ;) There`s no problem with the questions, just be mais chill about the funny/clever and sometimes not so clever/unexpected answers.

Zeppie said:
In a typical sense, a woman is an individual with XX chromosomes and has developed female sex organs and a menstrual cycle. There are outliers but this is the general base.

In rare cases of intersex there is a grey area when the individual has both male and female sex organs. This would be a process with their doctor and discussed case por case whether the individual chooses to take action to become male or female, or remain intersex.

A trans woman biologically will have XY chromosomes but will take hormone therapy and top/bottom surgery to physically have the traits and sex organs of a biological woman but will still not have the same genetic make up.

Tbh I feel like it has always kind of been this way, people have just started to recognize it more. Like in the past I feel as though it was treated mais like a medical issue, whereas now people seem to treat it as an identity, if that makes sense.

Yeah, no problem. It's a subject I've been meaning to look into mais deeply. I would agree, no harm in discussion.

XX Chromosomes, biological speaking. But then we have Transsexuals, who are mentally the opposite of what their physical body shows. In short, it all has to do with whether someone is Cisgender or Transgender.

Which is it then, it's is your chromosomes, or what you call yourself.
x-Yumi-x3 posted over a year ago

Both. Because, I do believe it’s possible that the brain of one sex could develop within the body of another. Because, if not, then how would we explain Transsexuals?

If her brain is structured like a female's brain.

Usually, your brain matches your body in terms of structure. In the case of transgender people, their brains developed to that of the opposite sex and have to undergo therapy and medical treatment to relieve the dysphoria is causes.

So, it's the structure of your brain.

Id post a pesquisa or an answer on the debate club for that. And if you really jsut wanna get different opinion, message me personally and Ill actually answer this, all arguments dropped

I mean, there's a difference between gender and sex.
I'm just studying psychology, not biology, so I know mais about gender dysphoria since it's an actual medical term in the DSM-5, but at the same time I'm not an expert on any of it. Since you're asking to hear an 'honest' opinion, I suggest you ask a real psychiatrist and doctor to quench your curiosity.

Oh well. Like I said, I'm not a professional. I guess my opinion consists of recognizing trans women, but I also think there's a major difference between a small child with dysphoria and someone who's just now leitura trans media and becoming confused. Some recognize the ladder, which I think is dangerous if they're considering transition. Also, I think it's important to recognize that, as I said before, gender and sex are two different things. Sex should be recognized as the biological component which declared the body female or male at birth, but it's also interesting how the brain is molded and just as biologically structured to represent the opposite sex which one's genes molded the body. It's not something I know a lot about, but it is something I consider while crossing paths with so many people in my day-to-day life. I mean, that's why I'm studying to be an art therapist in general. I recognize the human brain as a biological organ which makes up the human experience, just like the body. It can be wounded, it can be composed differently, and it is based on so many different perspectives in psychology. That's all.
