How long does it take to evolve an Onix?

I'm trying to get every pokémon in Black 2, and I know you need to train it with a Metal casaco to make it evolve. How long will it be before it evolves?

well, it depends. you have to trade Onix while making it hold a metal casaco so that it could evolve into Steelix.

Iwark/Onix doesn't need to be trained with the metal coat,it has to be traded with the metal casaco and then it will evolve as it's being traded-so yeah you have to find someone to trade with in order for it to evolve!
