TDH's note: my 1st account, ThatDamnLlama, is lost, but I don't want my story to die with it. It's been a mês since I last wrote, so it would probably be a good idea to read the first six chapters if you can find them, so you can get caught up.

It was late morning. What a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the birds were churping, and the weather was great.

But no one was enjoying it. A feeling of sorrow and suspiscion hung in the air, lowering everyone's moods.

Caution tape was wrapped around the zoo's enterance, and the police and several private detectives came to investigate and collect evidence. Reporters interviewed Alice to try to get every last drop of information on the incident, but she wasn't much of a help. All she could tell them was that she came to the zoo early that morning like usual and saw the horrifying scene. "And I freaked out and called the police," She would embrulho, envoltório up.

Alice, being the only one at the zoo that morning, was put on the small list of suspects and was taken to the police station for further questioning. The only others on the suspect list were a few other staff members who were working yesterday and today, a maintenence worker, and a guy who worked at the hotdog stand nearby the babuíno exhibit.

During all of the commotion, the penguins ciclomotor around their lair. Skipper placed himself on his chair and slowly sipped his cup of coffee. Rico sat quietly in a corner, cuddling his doll. Private and Kowalski were playing checkers, without saying a word to eachother during the whole game.

Footsteps were heard, getting louder and louder, nearing the penguins' headquarters. Usually when someone was walking towards the HQ, the penguins would jump up and stand in their fighing positions. But today , they just glanced lazily towards the enterance.

Marlene appeared in the doorway.

"H-Hey guys...!" She said weakly, forcing a smile upon her face.

The penguins muttered their greetings back to her.

"What? That's all I get? No hug?" Marlene piped up sarcastically, spreading her arms out.

No one replied. The only responce she got was a small smile from Kowalski, who blushed and quickly looked back down at the checkers board.

Marlene also blushed and looked away from the lieutenant. She bit her lip and glanced at Skipper.

"Look, I know you guys are upset. But there was nothing you could do. It wasn't your fault."

Skipper frowned down at his coffee.

"We don't need any sympathy, Marlene. Stop atuação like this whole thing was just one big accident." Skipper looked up at at the unhappy otter. "Cute and naive, Marlene. Cute and naive."

Marlene opened her mouth to revolt, but stopped herself. She sighed.

"I just don't want to see you guys this way." Marlene sniffed and quickly wiped a tear off her cheek.

Skipper hated seeing Marlene like this. Because of his nightmare, he was paranoid around her, but that feeling of suspiscion went away and he saw her as his good friend like usual.

"You know what? I think you're right, Marlene. This incident shouldn't let us down!" Skipper looked at his team. "Alright, Men. Get off your tails. We're training today. Marlene, you have the pleasure of watching."

Marlene smiled widely as the penguins stood up, already in better moods.

They climbed up the ladder and out of the fishbowl opening.

Once out in the sunlight, Skipper saw the reporters and police gathered around the babuíno exhibit. He looked away quickly and smiled at his team.

"Training is now in session!" Skipper yelped.

-----

Meanwhile, over in the lémure, lemur exhibit, Julien was eyeing the police and reporters in confusion.

"Maurice!" He shouted.

The chubby lémure, lemur hopped to the king's side.

"What is it, your majesty?"

Julien pointed at the people.
"Who are they and what are they doing?"

"Uhh..." Maurice squinted down at the humans.
"I think that's the police, and those are cameramen." Maurice glanced hopefully up at the king, not wanting to be questioned further.

"Impossible!" Julien snarled, "Why would picture-taking people be at the babuíno exhibit, when they should be taking pictures of their kingly king?"
Julien smiled and flashed a pose.

Maurice sighed. "Uhh..."

"Enough!" Julien shouted. "Make them come over here." The king frowned down at the robusto, forte, cerveja preta lemur.

"Um, your majesty, I don't know how." Maurice shrugged.

Julien huffed an exasperated sigh. "Oh, Maurice, you are hopeless." He looked around his habitat. "Mort!"

Within seconds, the tiny rato lémure, lemur appeared in front of the king's feet.

Mort smiled up at Julien. "Yesss?"

Julien grinned. "Ah, Mort. I can always rely on you. Go make the picture-taking people come over here. Now hop to it."

"Okaaaay!" Mort was still smiling as he skipped across the exhibit, and stood where the people could see him.

"Cameras! Over herrreee!" Mort did whatever he could to grab the people's attention. Finally, they started turning around towards the cute little lemur. Some let out a few "Awwwww!"s and started taking pictures of him.

Julien was watching the whole thing. "What? Why are they taking pictures of Mort when they should be taking pictures of me!" He sighed. "Ugh, nevermind."
The king, at a loss, flopped down in his trono and jealously watched Mort pose and smile for the flashing cameras.

Blazing Love

-NYFD, 2300 Hours

An alarm rang, the fogo men sprang to the pole and slid down to the 1st floor. And most immediately went to the fogo trucks. One ran to another.

“What's the diagnoses?” One fireman asked

“A fogo at the Central Park Zoo.” The other said.

The first fireman lowered his head, closed his eyes, and sighed in disappointment. “Jesus, people trying to kill animais these days?”

“I don't know if that was the cause of the problem.” Then he started to run towards a firetruck. Then he turned and put his arms out towards the fireman. “But there's only one way to...

[Skipper]

Septenber 3, 2019.

It was peaceful...too peaceful. Normaly I'd hear Julien dancing to música as usual. But then again, I was gone for 9 years. Maybe he'd changed...well, you never know.

The zoo was the same as when I left it. Exactly the same. Except there is no one crying and begging me to stay. And yes, that was my team who was crying and begging.

I wonder if they missed me. Do they still remember me?...I thought to myself. Maybe I'm just a distant memory to them. I sent them letters, but they never send any back. Don't they know that I'm comming? Maybe they're angry at me for leaving....

Skipper barged into the pinguim HQ, Kowalski still close behind, his head hung low with dejection. The first thing he noticed was Private lying on the table, bandaged, bruised, and unconscious, with Rico hovering around him.

He made a B-line to where the young pinguim lay and visually assessed his injuries. After deciding that his wounds although serious, weren’t life threatening, Skipper demanded to know what happened.

Kowalski began to explain how Private had climbed the árvore to rescue the kitten, how he was so close to saving said kitten, and how the branch gave out under his weight. His...

Skipper’s eyes slowly opened; his vision still blurry from sleep. He blinked twice to regain his focus. For a segundo he forgot where he was, he wasn’t in his bunk, and he wasn’t in the HQ. A brown figure lying seguinte to him caught his attention. It was Marlene. He remembered telling her he would spend the night, knowing that his team could take care of themselves. He shrugged and returned back to a prone position and went back to sleep.

Fifteen minutos later he awoke again, but this time to the smell of peixe coffee brewing on the table. He sat up and put his face in his flippers and let...

Three days passed and Skipper finally decided that the late night training exercises were not doing anyone any good. No one really knew why he had come to this conclusion, but perhaps he thought it was affecting Kowalski’s mind, as Kowalski had changed throughout the last three days.

Kowalski used to hate música and generally only tolerated it if it was soft and not repetitive and annoying. Now, he already listened to every record the penguins owned and even played them while he was fiddling with an invention. On dia three, he finally packed up all of his inventions and threw them into a corner,...

Skipper had taken his time to get back from Marlene’s so he could piece together the best words to explain his and Marlene’s relationship, especially to young Private.

He entered through the fishbowl entrance as he usually would, and turned to face his team. Much to his surprise the three were standing facing him, almost as if they expected him.

“Skipper I believe there’s something you need to tell these two.” Kowalski stated as he motioned his flipper first towards Rico then Private. The two of the stared at Skipper anxiously, waiting to hear what Kowalski was talking about.

“Yea...

Unfortunate for the procurar to conclude in failure. Of course, one couldn’t complain when two of the three penguins that engaged the mission had been lacking in effort. The third penguin, Rico, had found something rather interesting. A gray crowbar partially stained with blood of seemingly unknown origin. Normally, the explosives expert tended to andorinha any sort of object that sparked his interest, which, in this case, was so.

Now, at this point, Skipper and Kowalski really didn’t care for Private’s case, much to the small penguin’s delight. And then, typically, life went on as it had,...

In fact, that night, Private had much difficulty in falling asleep. Simply the thought of a friend who was in need prevented the pinguim from sleeping. He wondered if Rico was awake, too. He certainly hoped not. Private only wished the best for the regurgitating penguin.

Suddenly, a noise from below grasped Private’s full attention. On first inspection, it was difficult to determine what the sound was. Luckily, Private merely turned his head to the side and caught the perfect glimpse of Rico’s back. The heavyset pinguim was slowly heading towards the television. This baffled Private, for...

Despite the fact that it was well early in the morning, the injured Private was given a few hours to himself for rest and recovery. Skipper stayed true to his word, being sure as to give Private his privacy throughout the entire day. Having done this, the leader also granted the rest of the team absolute freedom for the day. Hopefully, this would give the other penguins some time to themselves. After Private’s unexpected disappearance, it was probably for the best.

Taking advantage of these moments, Kowalski chose to sit in a corner of the room, composição literária all of his thoughts on his notepad....

The rats lead Skipper away on the steel cage. This time he knew better than to struggle, he might as well save his energy for what was coming. ‘Well,’ thinks Skipper ‘I guess that this is the moment of truth.’ The sound of footsteps and the repugnant smell went away after a while and a few moments later Skipper felt himself being lowered down again. The cover is pulled away; Skipper blinks in the sudden light as his eyes adjust. In front of him stood Kowalski, Rico, and Private, all seeming exceedingly happy. Skipper was back inside his lair. The rats climb back outside chuckling as...

[Skipper looks around. His pinguim lair is empty]
Skipper: Kowalski? Rico? Private? Anyone? All my men seem to be gone. Perhaps they’re at Marlene’s.
[He sneaks over to Marlene’s habitat, careful to not be seen]
Skipper: Marlene? Marlene! She seems to be gone to! This must be a complot, but from who? The only suspicious activity I have seen came from…[Gasps] Kowalski!
[Skipper quickly rushes to the lémure, lemur habitat. After much searching (even underneath the "RoyalThrone")he finds it empty]

"But, as I said I no longer do and he probaly has no idea I'm still living." Victoria repeated, seeing Kowalski's look. She didn't know why, but something about him made her feel... well.... diffrent. She couldn't discribe what it felt like, it wasn't a bad feeling, but just a feeling. Suddenly, there was a noise, the TV turned on. Victoria's eyes widened in horror. On it was someone she...

The penguins where asleep, crammed together in the little o espaço there was.

Except for Skipper. He got little sleep due to the lack of room. He kept himself busy por daydreaming. He dreamed of his início back in Central Park, imagined what Ecuador would look like, and most importantly, he thought about Heidi. He kept on reminding himself that the whole reason why they are heading to another continent and into the unimaginable was Heidi.

Skipper missed her. He could almost...
