What is House about? And what channel is it on?

I've heard about this show, and it's got my interest :D

Could someone give me a short summary of it, and tell me where I can catch it? I'm really interested, like I said.

The show's central character is Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie), an unconventional medical genius who heads a team of diagnosticians at the fictional Princeton‑Plainsboro Teaching Hospital (PPTH) in New Jersey. The character has similarities to Sherlock Holmes: both are forensic geniuses, musicians, drug users, aloof, and largely friendless.
Dr. House often clashes with his boss, hospital administrator and Dean of Medicine Dr. Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein), and his diagnostic team, because many of his hypotheses about patients' illnesses are based on subtle or controversial insights. House's only true friend is Dr. James Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard), head of the Department of Oncology.

you should really check it out i promise you wont regret it. House is a very interesting character an hugh laurie does and exquisite job interpreting him plus the cases are very interesting as well.
