Aladdin: So here we were, early 1990's, and the disney Renaissance was at its peek. The studios had produced two of the highest grossing animated films of all time and still were pushing on. However the team suffered a tragic loss with the death of lyricist Howard Ashman who surprisingly had had a large amount of creative input on the anterior two films. (He named Ariel) It was even his idea to make the seguinte disney animated feature, Aladdin released on November 25, 1992. However, much to the disappointment of many, this would be the last picture to showcase a royal fairytale princess for the seguinte impending 17 years, Princess Jasmine.

jasmim is unique for a plethora of reasons. One being the fact that she is the only princess of the disney Lineup whom the story does NOT revolve around. Not surprisingly, this lends to the fact that researching her is slightly mais difficult without deviating into the design of the other characters.

jasmim is also the first princess of any ethnicity. Keeping in mind that this film was released pre-September 11th, (not to say 9-11 affected the way we view these characters today) but unlike the upcoming princess Tiana in The Princess and the Frog, racial sensitivity and political correctness was surprisingly not as touchy an issue in the creation of a Muslim princess.

In fact, in the book 1001 Arabian Nights the story of aladdin (and subsequently the princess) was Asian. However aladdin was most likely not originally apart of the stories dating back to about 1000 A.D., but was added to the compilation por Antoine Galland, a French author/translator, who published the books in 12 volumes between 1704 and 1717.

While the disney version underwent many contemporary changes, the princess’s predicament of being pressured to find a suitor remained relatively the same. However, originally the princess's name was Badroulbadour and was very vain and spoiled.

 jasmim Guy
Jasmine Guy

Obviously, disney writers decided to change this personality flaw along with her name to something mais 'relatable'. It turns out jasmim was their first choice as it was among the most popular girl names in the early 90's largely due to actress Jasmine Guy. Although some early sketches were based from some of her features, her look came off as too severe.

Yet another unique detail about jasmim is the fact that her final look was not based after any particular celebrity. Mark Henn who has been partially responsible for the design of every disney princess since Ariel, turned to a number of exotic modelos to base jasmim off of but ultimately was dissatisfied. He describes having seen a guest at disney World with long black hair and knew he wanted that feature but was having difficulty finding a face for the princess. Eventually Henn looked in his wallet to find a high school graduation fotografia of his younger sister Beth Allen. He did a concept sketch based off of her which the directors liked and ended up approving.

Jasmine vs Taj Mahal and Arabian text

In a similar spirit that incorporated the angular look of medieval tapestries into Sleeping Beauty, Art Director, Bill Perkins wanted to incorporate the look of Arabian text and architecture into Aladdin. Once such place to compare with jasmim is the Taj Mahal. Although, NOT Arabian but Indian, the Taj Mahal is located in the city of Agra which is arguably the inspiration for the fictional city Agrabah. At closer inspection of jasmim you may notice similar arches and curves in her clothes, jewelry, hair and features.

With the finalized look of princess jasmim being whole-heartedly approved, the directors faced a problem. aladdin had been developed to be a young, scrawny underdog of a character. However Jeffrey Katzenberg, Disney's then Chairman, believed the romantic chemistry between the two characters would be 'unconvincing' (that the princess would never find him attractive). So, at the last minute, animators were told to make aladdin older and resemble Tom Cruise. Therefor in this case, Jasmine’s design influenced that look of the hero.

Many people are unaware of the two major themes representing the Princess which are presented in her first scene. The first is the water fountain. jasmim was chosen to be dressed in a light blue specifically to represent water, the most precious substance one can find in a desert. The princess's first scene was situated seguinte to a fonte to emphasize this connection.

The segundo theme is a caged bird. Also, in the first scene we see jasmim release birds from their cage. This was meant as a metaphor for her plight; While she is “taken care of [and] provided for” she is caged from a world she has never seen and yearns to be released. We see this theme again in Jasmine's birdcage-shaped boudoir.

The whole concept of jasmim escaping the palace in the dead of night to experience the 'real' world is directly inspired from the 1953 classic Audrey Hepburn film Roman Holiday. Hepburn plays a Princess Ann from a nondescript country visiting Rome. After a slight emotional breakdown, the princess sneaks out of the royal embassy and enjoys living as a regular person for a dia going por the name Anya. (which would later be the name used for Don Bluth’s misplaced princess Anastasia) She meets a guy, they fall for each other, her bodyguards come after her...all of which is in Jasmine's story~Great movie. Watch it!

As I've mentioned before, this movie has directly inspired pretty much every disney Princess since Sleeping Beauty.

In conclusion, jasmim is an asset to the disney Princess lineup. She is a pioneer so to speak, being the first heroine of color disney had ever produced. Notably so, every following addition to the Princess lineup has been ethnic with Pocahontas, mulan and now Tiana. mais than that, jasmim represents a fight for civil rights, to fight against laws that stifle life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. For this, she continues to represent one of the most important messages to our society today. Whether it be racial tolerance, social hierarchy, civil rights or something more, each person can take a lesson from her and her story. She broke a long-held exclusive bearier for girls (and boys) paving the way in letting children believe that anyone of any race can be a princess and mais importantly, to fight for what you believe in.

My opinion on which princess are hot and which aren't. Basically a list on who I would bang.

10. Snow White.

She's a munter.

I suppose that's a bit harsh but she has the least bangability out of the all. She's just way too young, innocent and, to be honest, annoying to even consider. And she's not in anyway hot.

9. Cinderella.

She's pretty but she doesn't have any features to be considered "hot" in my opinion. She doesn't have a hot face. She doesn't have a hot body. And she doesn't have any personal qualities that make her bangable. Plus she'd probably run away half way through.

8. Mulan....

40. Tiana - high ponytail with tiara

I actually really like this hair style. It is kind of unique, because I don't think any other princess has a similar one. And I think the tiara she wears with the high ponytail is cute. I don't really understand why people hate it so much.

I've never been fond of the high ponytail and that tiara just makes it 10x worse. - VGfan30

I realized that it would be too long to put all 20 hairstyles in one article, so I dividido, dividir it up in two artigos

20. Snow White's hair with blue ribbon
Omg, did just Snow White entered topo, início 20, despite already 23 hairstyles had been eliminated? Quickly, we have to take her down!

Well, this hairstyle isn't that great, it makes look pale and unnoticed.
"Say what? You don't like my hair?"
"Say what? You don't like my hair?"

"I hate that hairstyle... Too short, too ugly. Not that I don't like short hair, sometimes short hair looks great, but not when it comes to Snow White." skypirate

"I like her hair with a red bow,...

One dia at work, Tiana was working at her new restaurant that was built at the end of the Princess and the Frog movie. Then suddenly Louis my favorito character comes up and plays jazz with the big boys. Naveen and I were at the mesa, tabela waiting for some fresh good food. Tiana the princess that was married to Naveen comes up and give us what I want and he wants and I waited. Then Tiana's children were playing around with the tables and going nuts. Then Charolette comes crazy in the restaurant and she was hugging me saying "Nice to you and what is your name?" I said "My name is Meaghan Davis I'm...

There's no denying that disney has produced some beautiful princesses, as well as some.. well, not so pretty princesses. I'm going to give you my list of the topo, início ten prettiest princesses, based on the way they look in their original movies.

#10: SNOW WHITE
I think everyone saw that coming. I'll give her this at least: she has nice eyelashes. And nice.. lips? I'm really trying to be nice here. There's nothing about this girl that is very attractive. Her alien-looking nose, her hairstyle, the fact that she looks about 12 years old.. I know that's close to her age, but still. There's really no pictures...

This is a list about the most comfortable bedrooms in disney Princess movies. I made the countdown some months ago, but I just have time and mood to write the artigo now. I included almost all bedrooms we see in the movies, except Mother Gothel's bedroom and Grandmother Fa's bedroom, because theirs are seen too little in the movies. I hope you'll enjoy leitura this. To all participants, I say a huge THANK YOU for picking and commenting.

21. Aladdin's rua bedroom

It's just a corner up in the ruins of an old building, but to aladdin it's his only bedroom. He doesn't have a house, so he tries...

So I did this awhile back for Esmeralda and Megara (and even further back for Merida). So I thought I'd do it for the other two main unofficial princesses. Funny thing is, Kida, despite being a princess, probably has mais reasons not to be included than any other heroine. But I digress, let's take a look at some of the pros and cons of adding Jane Porter and Kidagakash to the line-up.
 Princess of the Apes
Princess of the Apes

Reasons Why
-Kida actually is a princess.
-One could say Jane is the princess of the jungle.
-Tarzan was a relatively successful movie, that produced a successful franchise.
-Kida is somewhat...

For now I'm sticking to the usual "who came first" order, but I might mix them up later on.

Character: Top! As my favorito childhood princess, she will always be something special.

Role Model: topo, início – no middle – no topo, início – no middle. The thing is, I like her in the top, because she is friendly, acts responsible and is an all around positive character. But it does become rather crowded in the top, and there are three princesses I would rank above her.
Beauty: topo, início – it’s easy to make ícones with her, because she looks good from mais or less every angle. From the blue eyed princesses,...
