I woke up in the bed that my little brother Tyson and i shared. We live in a small one bedroom house with one bathroom,kitchen and living room. All of us lived in the small house.Except my brother Andrew who had died in the Hunger Games last year and we were still getting sympathy because of it.I pushed the thought of my older brother out of my mind. Then i reliezed that Tyson wasn't in the bed with my i quickly felt around the sea green sheets for his little body of warmth but i felt nothing. He must've gotten awaken by bad dreams and climbed in bed with our mom. Sure enough when i rolled on to my side there was Tyson, curled up in our moms arms his hidious cat,Luis, purring in his arms. I quietly slipped out of bed and got dressed. I headed out the back door and headed straight for the fence that seperates district 12 from the woods. I listened for the elictric hum that alerts me that the fence is on.Thankfully i hear nothing so i walk along the fence untill i find the gapping hole in the bottom of the fence.I get on my knees and shimmy through the hole getting my jeans dirty in the process but i didn't care.I rushed through the large strech of greenery that we call the meadow into the dense tree packed woods.I stop at a hollow log and grab my bow and quiver of arrows with green feathers. Then i head head up a steep hill to my favorite place the place where the only person i can be myself with, who just so happens to be my girlfriend,Annabeth. We had been togehter since the last hunger games and our bond has only gotten stronger since then. Thats why we've both been dreading the reaping. By this time i had gotten to our place a rocky ledge that slopes down into a cave both of those are surrounded by berry bushes

okay i thought it would be longer but here i wrote like one an a half pages i forced myself to boo

Annabeth

I heard his familar light step a minute before he entered our cave.When he finally appeared i stood up and flung myself into Percy's arms. He held me in his arms for a while making a bairier that i could never get out of like i'd ever want to. He leaned down to kiss me and i returned the kiss passionatly when we seperated i looked at the boy that was holding me. Ripped and muddy jeans, an orange tshirt , very large muscels from i don't really know,a handsome face whitch to me is to wonderful to describe, sea green eyes that seem to look through into my soul, and his messy black hair that bounces just a little when he walks. I went back down to his eyes and saw that they were looking at me too. Percy says that i am beuatiful but i really don't see it i have curly blonde hair that i alway put into a pony tail, i wear jeans, a t-shirt and my dads old hunting jacket almost everyday,and i have stormy grey eyes that Percy says are dazzling. I decided to break the never ending silence.
"Hey" i said. that was the best i could do? I hadn't seen the guy in weeks and i say hey? Oh well. I'd really like to stay wrapped safely in Percy's strong arms forever unmoving and unchanging but sadly we couldn't because we had to attend the reaping at two. I shuddered at the thought of it. Percy looked down at me with concern on his face but thankfully he didn't say anything then as if to cheer me up started to speak.
"Hey, look what i caught!" He exclaimed. He then held up a loaf of bread that had little green specks of seaweed in it. Yum my favorite! It was seaweed bread from district 4,fishing. He had also stucken one of his arrows with green feathers into the bread. He handed it to me and i pulled the arrow out.
"Very funny",i laughed,'Oh i almost forgot Chase left us some milk!" I held up the bottle just about enough for two people to share.
"Thank you Chase!"He shouted and then he changed to a capital accent and said in his best imperssion of effie trinket,"Happy hunger games and may the odds..."He plucked a berry fromm the bush beside him and toshed it to me. I caught it letting the juices spread on my tounge.
"Ever be in your favor!"I finished almost anything horrible would soun funny in a capital accent because it's so ridiculus.
"Percy how did you get this bread anyway?" i asked very curious.
"I went to the bakers and traded the old man a squirell for it." We eat in silenc and then go check our snares. We were rewarded with a, wild turkey, two rabbits,and a pair of geese.The day flys by and before we know it it's time to go to the reaping.

chapter 3
Katniss

Peeta,Gale,Annabeth,and Percy walked into the sqaure around the time that Prim and i did. As they join us Peeta reaches his hand out to me and i take it gratful of him standing there beside me with his comforting hand in my trembling one. The only thing i know for sure is that he loves me and i the same for him.About the time that the others join us in the roped off section of the sqaure for the kids ages 12-18 to stand Effie Trincket and the mentor this year Chiron, mounted the stage. Effie walks up to the michrophone.
"Happy Hunger Games and may the odds ever be in your favor.This year as it is a Quarter Quell this year we will draw four names instead of two that means that 2 boys and 2 girls are going to the games this year." What does she think that we are uneducated freaks?Proboly.
"Lady's first" she places her hand into the girl's bowl and pulls out a peice of paper and reads it aloud."Katniss Everdean!" Prim lets out a horrrified sqeck. I straighten and make my way onto the stage. She picks another name from the bowl.I see Peeta's eyes are trickling tears for me."Annabeth Chase!"Percy's eyes widened in shock and then his head lowered in despair. Annabeth's little brother, Chase, let out a short high pitched whimper. Annabeth let out her shock through pride and slowly walked up to the stage her held high and joined me.Then Effie shook her hand.
"Now for the boys." repeating the motion she did with us she then took two names out of the bowl."I will do them both at once to save time, Percy Jackson!" Annabeth's hands clamped over her mouth. Percy came up shook Effie's hand and went to stand by Annabeth." And Peeta Mallarack!" I repeated what Annabeth did, Peeta was my only love and now they expect someone possibly me to kill him in the games? Tears are escaping my eyes. Peeta comes up and puts his arms around me.
"Everythimg is going to be alright we will not die" he promises in an hush whisper. The athem begins to play.

I love the chapter. It was really good.

Chapter 4
Peeta

The moment the anthem ends we are taken into custody. Not handcuffed or somthing like that but a set of ten peacekeepers lead us up the steps of the justice building and into it two. We climb up a set of steps and make our way on to the second floor they lead us through a dark corridor with only two rooms reserved for the tributes. I guess we'll be paired up for the trip into the capitol aswell i grip Katniss's had even tighter and i think she gets the message i will not let her die whatever it takes. Percy and Annabeth get shoved into one room and Katniss and i into the other. As soon as the peacekeepers close the door i hear Katniss shuffel into a corner and put her head between her knees i then hear her muted sobs. I stand up walk over and sit myself next to her. I put my arm around her and she puts her head in my lap. I try to comfort her stroke her hair and tell her shes going to be alright and she glares at me.
"Peeta i'm not worried about me i am worried about you! There are 48 of us and only one comes out"she says.
"I know and i'm going to do whatever it takes to make that person be you." I say she knows that thats true she'll always know. Prim and Ktniss's mother are the first to come in Prim makes Katniss and me promise that we will try our best to come home. Then our friend Gale is here.
"Look Peeta it's going to be easy for you to get a knife but Katniss you have to get your hands on a bow."
"What if there isn't any bows there?"
" then make one out of wood is you best shot. Bad joke sorry."
"What if there isn't any wood."
"Katniss," i say ,"There is alsmost always wood now ever since the one year since almost all the tribute froze to death during the night."
"Peeta's right and don't give away your talents during training. Katniss no going to the archery station. Peeta no going to the knife throughing station. Got it?"
"Yes" we both say. Then it's time for him to leave.
" don't let my family starve!"Katniss yells.
"I won't you know i won't Katnis!!!" And then hes gone.

I love this chapter, and they whole story in general.
Its really good.
And I can not wait until u post again. I hope its really soon!!

Percy

Once we got into the suite that was sort of like a holding cell Annabeth breaks down i can hear Katniss crying in the other room. I sit down next to Annabeth and hold her in my arms she looks at me with her beutiful stormy grey eyes witch are filled with desperate tears. I lean dow and kiss her and she kisses me back. Our friends and family had already come and gone so we were all alone. We were practically silent so i can here Katniss and Peeta in the other room talking.I think about how to cheer Annabeth up and come up with a plan.
" Hey Annabeth, how do you think Catnip and Pizza are dealing with this?"I say. She just giggles I hear Peeta go silent in the next room.
" It's Peeta and Katniss!" Peeta yells. Annabeth cracks up. The door slams and someone walks up to us.
"Get up." An unfamilar voice says we do as we are told and find ourselves staring into the face of Chiron the mentor for this year. He was a middle aged man with a long stragoly beard. " Now that you're in the games you need to have a strategy. Pretty boy whats your strategy?"
" My name is Percy Jaclson sir." I say." And i don't have one. The only thing i am focused on is to get Annabeth out of the arena alive."
"Okay but that might change when your in the arena. What about you sweetheart."
"i think i will go for the secret and harmless approuch get a really high score in the evaluation with the sponsers and make everyone wonder how i got it. In training i will steer clear of the areas i am good at training. Also i will make allinances that benifit the district like with Percy,Katniss, and Peeta make our own career pack that way if we get lucky and they have a rule change we will be together and powerful if one of us gets seperated the rest of us will find them more quickly."
"Good strategy."

chapter 6
Annabeth


Effie lead Katniss and i to a solid glass elevator and hurried us inside. We've been in the capitol for at least three days and we haven't even left our floor not even to eat there is a district banquet hall. Our elevator whooshes past eleven floors and land in the very bottom witch is below sealevel. We are rushed into a prep room where six strange people are waiting. One has stramge gold markings on her face, another really orange curls, and the strangest one of all had green skin the other three look pretty normal except for their hair choices. They take us to seperate rooms where we are groomed,cleaned, and rid of all body hair.
"There you almost look like people now." The women with bright blue hair says. I wanted to slap her upside the head. But i didn't though. Katniss appears in my room already cloaked in a fine robe she hands me another. I put it on feeling the velvet on my body like tiny whisps of a cloud.
"Hey, our stylist is in the other room. He's a really nice person." she tells me.I follow her into a room that looks so white it as thought the walls have been washed with pure bleach. In the corner is a man and he is the first capital person we've met that looks comepletly normal. He turns and i see that around his chocolate brown eyes were faint golden highlights but other then that he looked normal. His face lights up when he sees us.
"Hello i am Cinna your stylist and who may you be?" he looks at us quizingly. I'm the first to anwser.
" I'm Annabeth Chase and this is my best friend Katniss Everdeen." I say.
" Oh dear i'm sorry the odds were diffinately not in your favor. Your not afraid of fire are you girls." I have a feeling that i am going to like Cinna even though he's from the capitol.
"Nope." Katniss says popping the P.
"No only giant spiders" I say. Cinna looks around the room appearently find what he's looking for and hands two jet black jump suits to us.We change and then he makes us turn around a few times.
"Perfect."
"Cinna what exactl are we?" I ask.
" Well as we all know you come from district 12 coal mining and what do we do with coal?"
"We burn it." Katniss and i answer immediatly.
"Exactly." He has a smile on his face now.

Chapter 7
Katniss

Cinna escorted us to the chairoit hall where Peeta and Percy were waiting for us. They were wearing the same pitch black jumpsuits as Annabeth and I were but Peeta looked amazing in his. But maybe it was just the side of me that loved him talking. Annabeth's eyes got wide when she saw Percy. She turned to me and gave me a nod that indicated that she would need my help to get through these games. I gave her the same desperate look. We then made a silent promise to do all that we can to keep these boys alive and it will not come down to us 4. We walked over to the already flame engulfed chairoit and stood by our by our boyfriends. Cinna walked over with a Capitol made solid gold lighter. He nodded at us and took the lighted lighter to our head dresses.
"Now I want all of you to smile, wave and keep your heads held high and whatever you do don't let go of eachothers hands. Wouldn't want any of you to fall off the chairot." He jokes. Peeta takes my hand firmly in his and i can feel it sweating. The night black horses have started to move and i stand there mesmerised at the other charioots passengers and their costumes.The tributes from district 1 who i reconize from watching the reapings are Glimmer and a boy who's name i don't know they're costumes make them look like glittering diamonds. Those costumes were the only ones i had gotten to see before our chairoit completed it's last lap and was the last to enter the mounting station. Peeta hops off and helps me to the ground, Percy's next followed closely by Annabeth. Cinna is already there simply gleaming with joy Portia, the boys stylist, is there too looking unimpressed. She must be a capitol citizen at heart and think the outfits are to bland.
"So how'd we do?" i ask Cinna since he's the only capitol
person besides Effie who i trust..

" Fabulous you four were extrodainary." He anwsers. We're rushed to the glass elevator that takes us up to the twelfth floor and drops us off there. We head off to our rooms to change for dinner Peeta walks with me to mine and kisses my cheek. I open the door and sit on the silk comforter running my finger through the soft fabric and trying to think what it was going to be like in the areana. I push that thought out of my head and get up heading for the shower. I step inside and look for the on switch. There were so many buttons on the tthing that i couldn't do anymore then take an educated guess by pushing the large button on my far right getting in return a swab of good luck it turned on. I looked to my left and saw a wall of different fragrences. I looked through the waterproof lables untill i found the one that said strawberrys. I pushed it softly and a light bubbly foam rose and cleansed my body. After i was done with my shower i slipped on a simple green t-shirt and light denim jeans and walked down the hall to dinner. I sat between Peeta and Annabeth who had both saved me a seat. Effie and Chiron arrived and sat down. I was very greatful for him being the mentor this year and not our only other living victor Haymitch Abernathy who spent most of his time passed out drunk or drinking the white liqour Ripper sells him at the Hob. Thats the only time he ever goes out of his house but then again he only has to refill once a month after drinking through the bottles he had already bought. the first course was served, Chicken Parmeson with a side of sawteed onions.I looked up at our waiter and almost gasped in shock. I knew her!

Chapter 8
Peeta


Katniss lets out a shrill gasp. I turned to see what was wrong and my eyes widened in shock because just like Katniss,Percy, Annabeth, and Gale did i knew her. My thoughts went back to that day.

It was a brisk summer morning in the dead heat of July. Just like anyother day me and my friends were out hunting. It was also one of the best days of my life because Katniss had become my girlfriend that day aswell. We all had our weapons ready and i was pointing out birds that could be eaten to Katniss then watching her aim her bow and shoot them out of the sky. She had just shot down a pigeon when they came. A girl and a boy about the same age wearing tribute uniforms i think. The girl had had long waves of orangey red hair and her eyes were sea green the boy could be mistaken for someone down in the seam. That's when we heard the hobercraft approuching. We all dove into the bushes and waited. Then it all happened in a rush. A spear came down and peirced the boy's body killing him instantly then a net came down and snatched up the girl. She gave me a glance that pleaed for me help but i stayed put. Then we all waited as the roar of the hovercraft dissappeared and left us all in complete silance.

The girl was staring at me as the memory ended. I opened my mouth to apologize for not saving her but closed it again knowing what she'd say. She would say that if i did i'd be in the same situation as she was now. She left and i turn to ask Effie something.

"Effie can that girl talk at all." I asked. I really wanted to know because something in th way that she swallowed that she couln't.

" Of course not. That girl is an Avox Peeta. An Avox is someone who has annoyed the Capitol in someway and as punishment for doing so has had there tongue cut out and has to serve the tribbutes up untill the games. A very disgusting topic though." She anwsers. I think about that when the dinner's over and it haunt my dreams when i go to bed. I can't sleep so i go to Katniss's door and knock on it. She's there in less than a minute and as soon as she sees me she leans up a kisses me like she's so glad i'm there. When we breakk apart i hold her in my arms for awhile and look down at her. Her soft grey eyes, chocolate colored hair, tan skin, and soft lips are just the begining of why i love her. We silently go up to the roof only place we can be alone. We sit down and start up a conversation.

" Katniss?"
"Hmmm?"
"I really don't like the capitol. I'm only just a peice in thier games. If i'm gonna die i still want to be me." She just gives me a look and says,
" Peeta i'm doing to keep you alive and talking like that won't make it any easier to do you know."
"Actually Katniss i'm going to protect you." I say and she leaves.
