Has anyone ever wondered about how closely related Rozen Maiden and Konjiki no Gash sino are?

Rozen Maiden's about bonecas trying to become (pretty much) the fairest of them all and Gash sino is about little people named mamodos who try to become the King. Anyone else think they're similar?
