Have you ever witnessed a real-life reference to an animê or a specific animê character?

Hanamichi Sakuragi (Slam Dunk) is actually based from a real Japanese basquetebol, basquete player which has the same name (his name is Hanamichi Sakuragi also) He was born on 1960's but died at the young age of 18 because of a terrible accident.

The mangaka of Slam Dunk was inspired por his story and named the protagonist of his mangá after him.

NOTE: This boy in the picture is the real Hanamichi Sakuragi

*The name of the shoe brand DC is like the intials of the animê "Detective Conan"
