it was dark por the time she found it.
hidden among the roots of a great tall oak, it sat, practically begging to be taken. she sighed, lifting the object out of the nook which hid it from the whole world.
"there you are," she muttered to its leather cover.
she brushed leaves and an unfortunate worm off the cover and opened it.
it smelled exactly as she remembered. the scent of coffee, sea salt, and pine wrapped around her. for a segundo she was transported out of that melancholy scene and into the biblioteca in which she had practically grown up in.
the pages still blank and slightly yellow in color brought back memories she had forgotten. the feelings all flooded back to her and swirled around her.
but then the book was closed and taken from her warming hands. she was suddenly brought back to the harsh present and she snarled at Emery and arched her back.
"we are here for a reason Vita," he said.
she looked at Sage, who was already walking away. Sage trusted Emery although Vita did not.he simply got on her nerves, after all who needs coffee at 2 in the morning. considering the fact that Vita slept in the 'kitchen' half of her and Sage's apartment, she was pretty sure he was always doing that to annoy her. she began walking.
"yep," was all Emery said. he smirked and continued on. Vita raised her hand to strike him. god she deserved to hit him. he was so rude all the time. but Sage gave her a glare that read 'you hit him I hit you'. she lowered her hand
"fine," she replied begrudgingly.
one day. one day.
They broke through the thick forest foliage and climbed into the truck on the side of the highway, Sage in the driver assento and vita in the shotgun, leaving pickup part open for Emery. Vita gave him a sarcastic smile and he mumbled something that sounded an awful lot like 'witch'.
“you shouldn't torment him like that,” sage replied putting her gold hair in a ponytail before driving. She was very pretty in a sorta rugged way almost. Her features weren't symmetrical but she had the darkest green eyes. She didn't think herself and lacked confidence, sometimes, around certain people. She was ideal person to vita. She was the best example of human kind to Vita.
“so why do we need this book again,” Sage asked as she drove. Passing cars lit up the cab.
“Who steals a biblioteca book?” vita exclaimed. She was really annoyed.
Sage shrugged; she was pretty sure Vita was going to have one of her infamous moments.
“I'm serious! Who breaks into the biblioteca and takes a book?” she asked or mais yelled.
Sage nodded. Sometimes it was best to just nod.
“maybe you missed it,” Emery foolish replied through the sliding glass window. Out of the corner of Vita's eye, she saw Sage signaling to Emery to cut it. He ignored Sage.
“what!?!” vita streaked. “what?! I can't believe you just said that!?......
it all faded into the background as sage exited off the high way. Emery had so much to learn.
