There was a carnival in town that week, and I decided I wanted to go. I called up my best friend Alysa and asked her if she wanted to go with me. She thought it sounded like fun, too, so we met at the entrance of Le papillon (that’s French for ‘the butterfly’) at ten in the morning that day.
We rode ride after ride until we couldn’t walk a straight line anymore, then collapsed on a bench. It took a couple of tries before my bottom hit the bench, but when it finally did, I laughed so hard that I toppled off the bench and into the prickly bushes. It hurt, but I couldn’t stop laughing. I don’t know what it was, but I just could not stop laughing.
About fifteen minutos later, I was still laughing. A small crowd had gathered and I was trying unsuccessfully to explain to the medical officials that I was okay. I was laughing so hard my face and sides hurt and no one could understand me.
“She’s fine.” Alysa explained, “She’s laughing; she’s not hurt too bad. I promise.”
Five minutos later, I started to calm down. por then, there was quite a crowd of onlookers trying to see what was happening. Alysa had finally convinced the medical officials that I was okay.
“Whew!” I breathed. “That was a workout. I never knew laughing could hurt so much!”
“Let’s eat. I’m hungry.” Alysa said as if nothing had happened.
As the crowd dispersed, I noticed that David was one of them. He had a relieved look on his face. I wondered why he’d been so worried, but I thought I knew. I hoped I was right, too.
“Are you coming or not?” Alysa asked impatiently.
“Yeah, I guess.” I said thought fully as I stood up. “Do you know what David was so worried about?”

It’s raining on my window pane,
Inside this house looks so lame.
I’m so funny, so bored hunni.
Nothing much to do but to be a horn dog,
Being bored makes me write in my log.
Are we counting up or down?
Nothing seems to go around.
Boredom, you don’t like him.
Boredom, you wanna shoot him.
Don’t make that move.
You get in trouble when looking for fun,
You get so tired when the dia is done.
Soon as you get in bed,
You remember what should be done instead.
Just forget the problem.
Get a goodnight sleep and dream.
Forget about the boring adventure,
You should’ve discovered something in nature.
Boredom, forget them.
Boredom, sleep before the morning.

I miss my old house. I was happy and fine there. I hate the monsters who screwed us out of there. I wish my parents could have fought to keep it and pay it off rather than find a rental house. I don't care for this new place very much. I hate that the cozinha is downstairs, I hate the neighborhood and the area, and I cannot stand the animais that make noise in the backyard all night long. I miss my old room, where I can watch the sunset in the summer, I miss going for long walks in my old neighborhood, and most of all, I miss the memories.
