My world was dark.
The only thing I could see was the events that just took place; me running into the road, me seeing the car, the car crashing into me. It was like someone put my mind on replay.
I opened my eyes. Everything was hazy. Something bright shined in my eyes. It stung. I turned my head. There are flashing lights everywhere. My eyes finally come back to focus.
Police cars. An ambulance. The car that hit me. My towns news station.
"She's waking up", I heard a man's voice say.
"Thank God", I heard Cameron say. I turned to look at him. Then it hit me. That was Cameron who hit me.
I tried to look at the damage, but my head seemed to be in a headbrace. I felt myself being lifted onto the ambulance. I hadn't realized I was in a stretcher. I looked around as two men came in with me. Cameron came in as well. I then fall asleep.
-At The Hospital-
When I woke up, I was already in a hospital bed. There was an ivy in my arm. I was hooked up to a coração monitor.
"You're awake", I hear someone say. I turn to Cameron and smile. He smiled back. "I'm so sorry", he said.
"It's not you're fault", I say. My voice is surprising hoarse. "I was the one in the middle of the road."
"But I should've stopped. I saw you, but...", he trailed off.
"You couldn't stop in time."
He nodded.
"It's okay."
"You should see the damage."
I lifted my free arm, the one without the ivy in it, to feel for the headbrace. Nothing. I but I do feel a neckbrace. I do my best to look, but the neckbrace is I'm the way. "I can't."
"Umm..do you want-"
"Where's Mercury?"
"She's most likely at home. I was going to her house when I driving on that road."
"So she's not coming over to see you. Or me?"
"No."
Good. "Now what were you asking me before?"
"Do you want me to get you anything?"
"Oh. No, but thank you."
"You sure?"
I nodded. Then I saw my Grandma come in. "Grandma?"
"I'm so glad to see you're awake." She comes over to me and touches my right hip.
"Ow. That hurt."
My grandma quickly removed her hand and looked at my hip. "No wonder. You've got big bruise right there."
Cameron stood up to examine it. "That's where my car hit her", he said looking away. "I'm so sorry", he says to my Grandma.
"It was an accident", I say to my Grandma.
"I know", she said to me. "It's okay, Cameron." She pats his shoulder.
A nurse stands in the doorway. "Visiting hours are over."
Cameron and my Grandma look at me. "I'll okay", I assured them. Grandma kissed my cheek and left. Cameron squeezed my hand and left. Then I felt it.
A spark. The touch from his hand. It was like electricity. He did still have feelings for me.
