Chapter Ten
Mason had gotten a call from Olivia. Since he didn't answer, she left him a voicemail. What really hurt him was listening to it. If he wasn't a tough man, he probably would have cried his eyes out. Olivia left for Vermont saying she needed o espaço and needed to find herself. He didn't actually understand it but he listened anyway. He spent hours replaying the voicemail. He could tell you everything she said word for word.
There it is. That upsetting feeling he has whenever he blew something. Last year he blew a big movie deal and that feeling came. The seguinte dia he fixed it and it turned out to be the best thing he ever did. That gut feeling tells him to do the right thing and the right thing is to go after her and marry her. He realized that Olivia was one of a kind and deserved to be with someone that would treat her right. It didn't have to be him but he was sure hoping it was him. He knew her feelings towards him was what he felt towards her. She couldn't have just left without a formal goodbye.
Although he wanted to stay início and try to get his life back on track, he had to go to work and finish the movie. It was the right thing to do right now but as soon as work was over he would call Olivia and patch things up. What if she left because of him. No! He couldn't even bare the thought. She wouldn't just leave like this.
As soon as he arrived the manager came rushing up to him. Phillip was none for his dramatic personality. He was sweating and was blinking rapidly. His mouth was open and was breathing harsh. "The jail people just called. They said that Cassidy has been arrested."
"I'll go see what that is about," Mason said. He drove to the police station. It was a pretty dull place. The receptionist was an Asian lady who was smoking a cigarette. She had rough features and an unpleasant look on her face.
"Hey rich stuff, why ya here?" she asked. She eyed him up and down in an interested way.
Mason who felt exposed asked where Cassidy Golden was and she pointed him in the right direction. He had to go out to the courtyard and wait for the officer to drop her off. Cassidy looked like a deer caught in headlights. Her expression was genuinely scared.
"What are you doing here?" he asked sternly.
"Look I want to to tell you but you gotta promise that you won't tell anyone." She fumbled with her fingers.
"No promises," he replied cooly.
"Then I am not speaking," she said.
"Okay, fine I promise." He was holding his fingers for that promise. If it was truly terrible then of course he would have to tell people about it but if the press found out. Hourglass would be the most horrible movie all because of Cassidy and maybe him also. "Tell me."
"I was the one that burnt down Olivia's house. I only meant to scare her. I didn't know that her parents would be there." she rambled on and on about how she was sorry but this was probably why Olivia left.
"Wait, did you make Olivia leave?" he questioned.
"What do you mean? I didn't know she left but I am glad she did. She wasn't right for you. I was and you have gotta get me out of here. Milo can stay and do the time but I can't. I am too pretty for jail."
"Have a nice life," he mumbled. Mason left the mesa, tabela and didn't turn back to see the guard whisk Cassidy away back to her tiny cell.
Everything made since now. Olivia left because of Cassidy and now all he had to do was tell Olivia that it is okay to come back. He called and she picked up on the first ring. "Um oi Olivia. I have something to tell you," he began.
"Who is this?" asked a woman in a thick Jamaican accent. "I don't know who you think you are fella but as soon as I find you I will kill ya, ya hear? Now stop Fallon me before I call the police."
She hung up. I guess with a new hon comes a new cell phone number. There goes his chance of ever contacting Olivia and tell her she could come home. He didn't have one idea but it was impossible and he would have to do it after his movie launched.
Here he was in June and feeling as lonely as he was when he started the movie in May.

Ya know,
All these years
I've been standing here
In the darkness,
And I didn't know what to do
Or what to say
But when you came by
Boy, you gave me strength.
And you told me
Girl you're beautiful,
Now go on with your life
I've never met someone
Who has made me so strong,
But I told myself,
Oh you're amazing,
Oh you made me brave.
The story of my life
Is oh so sad to tell,
But sometimes that is why
Life is so memorable.
The way that he helped me out
Has made me carry on.
And all that gave me courage
Is my awesome little hero.
U R Beautiful,
And I know that I am too.
Well, now, maybe.
U R Beautiful
Boy you gave me strength.
