Are the vampire diaries a good series? My mom always likes to read my books b4 I do 2 make sure they are age appropriate. Is it a seguro book?

It has sobrenatural things, but after all it's a Young-Adult book. Teenagers can read it. I can name it as a 12+ book, because there are some bloody scenes there.
