Over the seguinte couple of weeks, the wedding started to come together. Everett's mother took Una shopping to find the perfect cerceta, verde-azulado fabric for the bridesmaids' dresses, mesa, tabela covers, and such. Una had picked out some of her very best actress friends along with Kaitlyn to be her bridesmaids, and one of Everett's little cousins would be the flor girl.
Everett's father called up some caterers and arranged times for Una and Everett to come have sample meals.
"I don't want anything too, too fancy," Una said. "Nothing our guests won't recognize. I just want good food!"
Una's mother helped them look up bakeries that could make them the perfect wedding cake. The cake would only have a couple of tiers, but it would be beautifully decorated with icing flores and toppers of the bride and groom.
"And the cake has to be chocolate," Una said.
Everett loved the idea. "Absolutely. Even if it's not traditional, our guests will like it the best."
Kaitlyn took Una to look at flores and decorations. She had an eye for what would look best inside a wedding venue - except that they still didn't have one. Una and Everett had called every place Everett had found, and one was booked all throughout July, one wasn't sure they would have enough room for all the people Everett and Una were thinking of inviting, and one had yet to get back to them.
"You'll find somewhere," Kaitlyn encouraged her. "Ooh, what about these?"
She was pointing at some cerceta, verde-azulado fabric rosas attached to long ribbons. Una remembered her father giving her fabric flores and ribbons just like those when she was younger, playing that he was giving her an award for a role in a play.
Una swallowed. She tried to answer, but she couldn't.
"Are you okay, Una?" Kaitlyn asked suddenly.
Una nodded. She tried to turn and smile at Kaitlyn, but realized there were tears in her eyes.
Kaitlyn put an arm around Una's shoulders. "It's okay. This must be hard, right?"
Una stared at her. Kaitlyn didn't even know that much about Una's father... how could she know....
"Planning a wedding and everything? I'd go crazy too! But it'll all work out. It'll be beautiful. You'll see."
Una sniffled and nodded, and tried to believe Kaitlyn, even though Kaitlyn couldn't possibly know what was really bothering her.
