Black Jack is a medical drama very much unlike the sappy stuff you see on the TV. Its plot is complicated, yet simple, Its characters mysterious yet interesting and the whole series amazing as a whole. It can get gory at times, which is why the recommend age is 16+, but I'm 13 and I got through the series just fine. The protagonist is an unlicensed doctor under the pseudonym Black Jack. This doctor is notorious for overpricing his treatments but is the master of the scalpel. I really liked this series because of the characters and mystery of the books. Each character had their own mix of good and bad qualities which made them relatable. Some parts of this mangá were pretty gory at times, as I mentioned beforehand, but it somehow gave you faith that the protagonist would fix everything, even at an unreasonable price. The books are formatted in multiple short stories which makes it perfect for light reading, and
it means you don't have to read them in order, but I highly
