Why do Hugh fãs (i have noticed the majority are female) think he owes them any attention?

A while back I remember this huge thing about a girl seeing Hugh get off of an international flight at Hethrow in London, probably on hiatus from House. Now I have taken that long flight and even in first class which was how I flew I was not at all happy getting off the plane. So she runs up to him, with her camera going, barely says two words to him, and demands a hug and he says no.

There was this HUGE outcry about how he was SO MEAN and that the fãs MADE HIM WHO HE IS and HOW DARE HE SAY NO TO A FAN!

I am all like, uh why did he ow that girl anything? First off, she doesn't pay his salary, secondly would she want some stranger running to her, shoving a camera in her face and demanding a hug after she got off of an 8 hora flight, just wanted to go home, was completely jet lagged and probably craving a good smoke? No...and if she said no to that person people would be like DAMN RIGHT but Hugh is an bunda because he does it? Why is this again? Can anyone answer this for me?

I would have done the same thing, because when you have time off from work all that person wants is to get início to see family and relax, if he had stopped bet she would not be the only one asking for a picture or a hug, these situations because you just need a person to begin with, besides I think it has time and place, in my opinion.

I have no idea. I'm a huge Hugh fan, and I agree with you that he doesn't owe us anything. He was right to turn that girl down for the hug, he didn't know her. Plus she didn't seem very excited to see him anyway.

Thank you! I am of the mind that you don't ask them for anything you take what they offer, and even if that's just a hi or a smile you be happy cause they didn't have to even do that! :D

Exactly! If I just saw Hugh in real life I would think my life was complete! xD

I don't think most of us (at least I hope not!) are like that. I certainly wouldn't have done mais in such a situation than say hi & that I was a fã of his work. If he were with his family I wouldn't have intruded at all. Now, at a public appearance like a concert, I'd be screaming with the best of them!

Thank you! I have seen celebs in public, some that I amor and watch all their movies, and very few have I actually gone over to. Once I am still kicking myself for not but the guy was in a bad mood he was arguing with the clerk at the store, was obviously told they'd have what he needed and they didn't so like let me add in a bunch of hero worship and possibly draw a crowd to him when all he wanted was film for his friend's camera and people were jerking him around. I ended up making eye contact with him, giving him a sympathtic look and leaving cause it wasn't the time. It was Billy Zane BTW, amor him but how would that help him in that moment? LoL! So I am glad others feel the same way.

You are right, Hugh Laurie ows nobody anything. He works incredibly hard for very long hours and the past 8 years have seen him spend major chunks of time away from his family. He is normally very accommodating when it comes to fans, but we all have our limits. No doubt he was exhausted and eager to get home, but Upper Class on Virgin Atlantic (yes, I know what carrier he uses!!) is VERY, VERY comfortable, in fact I would go so far as to say VS is possibly one of the most comfortable airlines . That said had you actually been on a flight from LAX to LHR you would know the flight lasts 11 hours not 8!!!

It was newark to LHR so don't call me a liar, I said I made a transatlantic flight I don't think I said I made the same exact one, but yeah believe what you want. Also I flew first class, Contenental (That's when it was only that YEARS ago) and I still effind HATED it, planes are not FUN unless you are on a prvate jet, my dad has been on them several times, I have never. But yeah apparently I am a liar, so I didn't fly from LAX to LHR but I did from Newark and it is 8 hours from there but call me a liar all you want, cause like that even matters in the grand scheme of things.

Also flying from Cleveland to LA is like 5 hours at least all the times I've done it even first class then that sucks, been to Hawaii as well, in coach from here to LA to Hawaii that's like a 12 hora flight, THAT sucks and even when you get there and are in paradise all you want to do is chuveiro and lay down but yeah must be a total liar here.

I'm pretty sure most people aren't like that. It's understandable that he declined, though, and it shouldn't have been made into such a big deal por the media or whoever.

I think what happens is people see celebrities on shows late at night, joking around and relaxed but you have to remember its all a part of promotion and marketing. That doesn't mean somebody is that way in real life. And we all have bad days.
