I have a feeling that those who should read this probably won't or will ignore what I have to say. But, I just have to say it (like many others have before me, and I'm sure many others will after me). Special Note: You may find this artigo particularly sarcastic and/or rude. Frankly, if you're doing what you're supposed to, this shouldn't bother you. If you aren't, I won't be too upset if you find this artigo rude.

Do not post imagens without including some sort of credit.
There is a bit of variation on how much credit different users feel should be included with images, but there is one thing we all agree on: credit is necessary. If you post a batch of ícones from a LiveJournal, put "username @ lj" in the credit box. If you get it from a fã website of some sort, include the url in the credit box. If you made it yourself, say so. Give credit where credit is due.

Do not post imagens that have already been uploaded.
Yes, it's a pain in the bunda sometimes to procurar for imagens and make sure they haven't been uploaded yet, but do it. Usually if an image has already been uploaded and a user makes the mistake of uploading it again, a polite comment will be made on the image to inform that user of the repeated content. For goodness sake, don't ignore a "This image has already been posted" comment.

Be detailed when tagging images.
I try to be as detailed as possible when tagging imagens I've uploaded. I always include the character names, the ship name (if applicable), the episode name (if I can identify which episode it came from), and the season in which the scene occured. This makes finding imagens so much easier. As a bit of a side note, don't be lazy when it comes to uploading batches of ícones in smaller groups in order to ensure proper tagging. If I procurar for a character, I only want imagens of that character, not a slew of assorted characters.

Follow the rules of the image creators.
This applies in particular to LiveJournal. Most LJ users will post a list of "rules" at the topo, início or bottom of their graphics posts. Follow these rules. If "Do not distribute elsewhere" is listed, guess what? You shouldn't repost the imagens anywhere! This includes Fanpop. If "This image has already been uploaded to Fanpop" is listed in the entry, don't upload it to fanpop yet again. If you make the graphics creators unhappy, you start getting angry messages from them or they make their journals private. It's really a matter of respecting those who take time to create fã art for us to enjoy.

I know these points have already been discussed many times, but either people are making newbie mistakes (forgivable, just correct them) or people are consciously not doing the right thing (which makes the spot less enjoyable for those who are trying to do the right thing). Feel free to add your own comments or amend/include other graphics "rules".
