Who else hates when Harry Potter names in your language sound kinda weird and strange?

I DO! I just hate how the translators or whoever they are have spoiled such a beautiful name as Hermione..u know in Russian it sounds Ger-me-o-na ughh
Why on Earth Hedwig sounds like Book-lya !
and mais and mais and more...PHEW!

I don't think any of the first names have been translated in my language but many nice last names have been completely ruined. UGH!! xPP

I tend to ignore them, though. Read the English books and watch the filmes without subtitles.

at the age of 7 i read HP books in Russian..cause i was no good in ENglish(nothing special changed though;p)but when i was 13 i read original HP books..and i was Really ANNOYED with such difference

I see how that would be annoying. I personally only read the first four books in Norwegian, and then forgot all about it when I moved to England. (I couldn't get hold of any Norwegian books, and didn't understand the language well enough to read them in English) I didn't really have any problem with the names since I read it all again in English later.
