After all that waiting here's the results of the first Old vs New survey, Sleeping Beauty vs Maleficent! I think this one is the only one where pretty much everyone answered the same thing and I'm not really surprised por the results for this one. The results are from the respostas of users and my own answers.

O = Original
R = Remake
O and R = Original and Remake

Favorite Aurora
O 7
R 1

I didn't get much of an explaination as to why most people preferred to the original over the remake, the only explainations I got was one person said they thought that Elle Fanning's atuação was stiff for some of the movie and another person saying the orginal was superior in ever aspect. For this one I can only assume it's because for some people you can't beat the original, people grew up with the original Aurora and fell in amor with her and Elle Fanning's portrayal wasn't terrible but, again, can't beat the original.

Favorite Maleficent
O 8
R

Okay this one is almost a no brainer. Angelina Jolie was great as Maleficent and Maleficent herself in the remake wasn't awful, but the reason people prefer the original is because Maleficent is supposed to be the Mistress of All Evil (two people actually said this), we grew up seeing her be evil and doing evil deeds and mock her enemies. In the remake she was completely changed, instead of being the villain we all grew up to know and amor she's a troubled person who raises the daughter of the man who wronged her. That story isn't bad, to a lot of people it just doesn't fit the Maleficent image.

Favorite Good fadas
O 8
R

Once again, no brainer. The original Good fadas were the embodiment of good. They were sweet, gentle, kind, and lovable and while they did argue they never actually hit each other or acted immature in their arguments. When you look at the original fadas you knew they loved each other. The remake fadas were just terrible characters and terrible people in general. They were incredibly negligent and they had no tact whatsoever. And any time we see them on screen they act like a hateful version of the 3 Stooges where they constantly fight but it's not funny and you don't really believe they like being together.

Favorite King Stefan
O 8
R

So much no brainers in this article. A few users disliked how evil he was in the remake and one user questioned why they even made him evil in the first place. Him being evil was such an unnecessary change. If the writers really wanted him to have done Maleficent wrong they could have done it without making him as evil as they did. King Stefan still could have been the good guy and he and Maleficent could have just been enemies and neither of them could be in the right or wrong because they each believed that whatever they were doing was right. And in the original even though we don't see King Stefan and Aurora interact that much it's made clear plenty of times that he loves her and cares about her but then remake King Stefan barely says any words to Aurora and is never kind to her at all because he's driven himself insane with fear and paranoia.

Favorite Prince Phillip
O 8
R

Here's some issues users had with Maleficent's Prince Phillip; he didn't have that much screen time and he didn't actually get to save Aurora in the remake. The original Prince Phillip escaped Maleficent's castle, rode through a mural of thorns, fought and killed Maleficent in dragon form, and saved Aurora from death-like sleep. In Maleficent he was just sort of...there. He doesn't do much except meet Aurora, get dragged to the castle, and then try and fail to wake up Aurora.

Favorite Crow
O 8
R

Diablo was Maleficent's pet and confidant, he was the only one she trusted to help her get the job done. Diaval was a corvo Maleficent saved from getting beaten to death and had sworn to serve her in return. Diaval, like Maleficent, wasn't a bad character but like Maleficent and Aurora, you can't beat the original. It didn't seem like there was a real reason to have Diaval human for some parts of the movie except to give Maleficent someone to talk to, but she could have just talked to her corvo like she did in the original and that would have been good enough. Maleficent was alone for a reason, she didn't need to make her pet human for companionship, Diablo was just fine in his corvo form.

Favorite Once Upon a Dream
O 7
R 1

Both versions of Once Upon a Dream were good but people preferred the original because, as one person put it, "duh, because it's memorable" and possibly because some people don't like how creepy the Lana Del raio, ray version was.

Favorite Plot
O 8
R

The plot for Sleeping Beauty was mais straightforward while the plot for Maleficent had a few plot holes and was slightly boring. As a standalone film Maleficent could have been an amazing movie if some of the plot holes were fixed, the characters better, and if Maleficent and Stefan's relationship was brought mais than just a few times at the beginning. por the end of the movie it's kinda easy to forget that they were supposed to be friends turned enemies

Favorite Curse
O 8
R

The curse in Sleeping Beauty was done for the sake of being evil (and possibly pettiness) while in Maleficent it's done in revenge for what Stefan did to Maleficent. The original curse was to just kill the princess but then Merryweather's gift saved her but then the new curse was changed to have her be in a "sleep like death" and to be only saved por true love's kiss, that last part added in a way for her to taunt Stefan because she believed there was no such thing. We don't even get to see the third gift in Maleficent.

Favorite Prince and Princess meeting
O 8
R

Without the musical number in Maleficent Aurora and Phillip's meeting there's not as much romance or chemistry. One user even thought that their meeting was embarassing. In Sleeping Beauty even though we don't see them having a real conversation there was still something there, he sings to her and dances with her, we wanted them to fall in amor and be together. In Maleficent they just talk for a little while and that was it.

Favorite Spinning Wheel scene
O 8
R

In Sleeping Beauty Aurora is put under a trance to follow a floating green orb of light that softly calls her name, is slowly led up some stairs to a room with a spinning wheel, and is ordered to prick her finger while the good fadas desperately call out to her and tell her not to touch anything. In Maleficent Aurora is put under a trance and wanders aimlessly until she ends up in the room with the burnt spinning wheels, one of which magically puts itself back together and she then pricks her finger and goes to sleep and we're cutting back and forth with Maleficent racing to the castelo on Diaval with a passed out prince behind her on his own horse. This scene in Maleficent is okay por comparison, Sleeping Beauty's version has mais build up, is mais intense, and is "more scary".

favorito Dragon
O 8
R

Many fãs were disappointed that Maleficent didn't get to turn into a dragon in the remake. Her transformation in Sleeping Beauty was one of the first villain transformations and is iconic even to this dia and Maleficent didn't get to keep it in the remake. Diaval was an impressive looking dragon, but now fãs have to wonder how Maleficent would have looked.

favorito True Love's Kiss
O 8
R

I honestly thought change in the remake was cute because I kinda like to think that it shows that you can count on family to save you too. But here's some problems with the true love's kiss in the remake; Frozen - Uma Aventura Congelante had just done this and even though this probably can't really count as a ripoff since Maleficent was probably done before Frozen - Uma Aventura Congelante came out, it did feel like a cheap copy and the other issue is por having Phillip's kiss not work it feels like the writers were trying to tell the audience, "There's no way this kiss could ever work because they barely knew each other!" But we all grew up watching Phillip risk his life to save Aurora and then kiss her awake, even though we don't see them together that much he still fought hard to save her in the end despite only knowing her for a musical number. To quote Anna from Frozen, "It's TRUE LOVE!!"

Ranking the disney princess eyes
Eyes are considered to be windows to the soul. Eyes are the most important facial feature. They beautify your face and are a beauty trademark to be admired if beautiful. I have aquamarine eyes which I spend time examining them and stare at many other people’s eyes. I decided to rank disney princesses por their eyes. And it is unique that I prefer big, wide eyes than small, tiny ones.

15. Mulan’s eyes

I don’t think she’s pretty, and I don’t like her eyes also. They are the least beautiful of other disney princess eyes. They are angled up, almost the V-shape....

1. The outside of the palace is inspired por the Taj Mahal.

2. The word "Agra" is in the name Agrabah. Agra is a city in INDIA.

3. Rajah is a tiger. tigres are a symbol of INDIA.

4. Lotus fountains (like the one we see when we're first introduced to Jasmine) are an Indian thing.

5. "Abu" is an Indian name.

People complaining about Naomi being cast as jasmim because she's Indian need to educate themselves.

If you want a version of aladdin with jasmim being played por a Middle Eastern woman, then major in film and get a film degree. It's not Disney's job to please you.

As for the people complaining...

Hi everyone, I just watched Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera just now. While watching, I noticed some similarities with Beauty and the Beast! Here are my observations.

The Story-line

As you may know, both stories are set in France, it also has a sad theme in it as it deals with a deformed person name Erik who wishes to be love. Ironically, the author of The Phantom of the Opera is por Gaston Leroux, who happens to be the namesake villain of Disney's retelling of Beauty and the Beast. The rose also plays a symbolic role in both stories.
Secondly, the Stranger Than You Dream It scene...

I haven't done a ranking in a while, so here ya go. This artigo is dedicated to the amazing animators of disney who gave us wonderful character designs and, sadly, unrealistic hair expectations! (*cries because my hair will never be as cool as DP hair*)

That being said, although every princess has beautiful hair, some manes are better than others. This is my opinion of their hairstyles, ranked worst to best.

12. Tiana

I find Tiana's hairstyles quite disappointing. As the first black princess, and being absolutely gorgeous at that, the animators could have done lots of cool things with letting...

Introduction: Understanding the Enneagram

Here’s a basic rundown of each type:
1: perfectionistic, rational, idealistic
2: generous, warm-hearted, nurturing
3: ambitious, image-conscious, charming
4: sensitive, dreamy, moody
5: cerebral, perceptive, analytical

Since it's Dia das bruxas soon I decided to write a few artigos relating to that, they're actually pretty much the same, this one is about the scariest moment in each DP Movie, the other one will be my topo, início 5 or topo, início 10 Scariest DP Movie Moments, haven't decided yet which one I'll do, but I'm leaning towards topo, início 5 at the current moment. Anyway so I hope you'll enjoy this article

Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs: The Forest Scene

It's feels kind of strange to start off this artigo with imo probably the scariest animated moment and one of the scariest movie moments (I don't like horror movies),...

So I really, really, really amor the disney Princess dance sequences, particularly with the waltz, as I find it to be so sweepingly romantic! The animation of the dance, the way the dress twirls with the women, the romantic and powerful score in the background, the gorgeous scenery in the background and the usually gorgeous dress worn por the princess... I amor everything about these sequences! That's not to mention the show of romantic amor developing. I am very much an old soul so I really amor the process of "courting" which often included the man taking the woman out to dance or dancing...

So yesterday I wrote about my favorito songs, today I'll write about the 10 best scenes, originally I was planning on only doing a topo, início 5, but I felt that it was too little so I decided to do a topo, início 10 list, like with the songs I amor all the scenes in the movie so placing them wasn't so easy, but I hope you'll like this artigo anyway

10. The Funeral Scene

This scene is so sad yet so beautifully animated and I couldn't resist putting this one on here since I lost my grandmother just a few days ago, but even before that this has been one of the most beautiful scenes in the movie aswell as...

If the disney Princesses were Housewives on Wisteria Lane, which house would be theirs? [If you are a Desperate Housewives fan, I included who lived there from the show if anyone did.]

1. Snow White: 4350

This house is a nice beige color, between white (her skin) and yellow (her skirt). It has a gazebo style balcony that fits perfectly for her and her prince to dance around and sing to each other in. [Martha Huber/Felicia Tillman/Andrew VandeKamp]

2. Cinderella: 4354

This house is a beautiful big blue house, just like her beautiful big blue(ish) dress. It's like a palace but still with...

This is a series I'm starting, I did some research, I'm not gonna say I was 100% thorough, and tried my best with each princess. Some of them were easy, some were harder than others. I won't talk about Anna and Elsa because 1. I hate to say it but it's hard to pin Elsa anywhere and 2. The less princesses to write about, the easier for me. Let's go.

Snow White-Earth
She was difficult because she shows aspect of water, fogo and earth. Ultimately I went with the latter, Snow White is motherly, practical and the most grounded classic princess. She's doesn't have her mind in the clouds as much....

My opinions on Rapunzel have changed a lot. When I joined Fanpop, she was segundo on my list. Eventually she moved up to first. After that, she made a bunch of drops, until she eventually reached the eleventh spot on my list. So I've gone from loving her to death to disliking her. Oh, well. I might as well explain why I dislike her then.

I dislike Rapunzel mostly because she's an overdone character and I feel like she's shoved onto me a lot as a character. You're supposed to see her as this amazing character who is easily relatable because of how she has many hobbies, and well rounded,...

So, I made a long rant on mulan in a poll, so I figured I would add mais into it, and turn it into an article.

I don't think she's amazing as people make her out to be. Brave, smart, a great personality. I don't see all of that in her. She's pretty brave, but I think there are braver characters out there than just her. She's smart, but I don't think she's THAT smart, quick-thinking and smart are different. I don't find her personality appealing. She's pretty lazy and gave up too easily at the beginning of the movie. She only works hard when she's forced. Then por the end of the movie, she's completely...
