I've heard so many times that Anna is just another Rapunzel or Rapunzel 2.0, and I've really wanted to make an artigo talking about how she's a unique character and what differentiates her from Tiana, Rapunzel, and Merida. So yeah, let's get started! (By the way this is no way meant to insult the other modern disney Princesses, just to show how Anna is different)
Her Wanting To Be Loved
When you think about it, all of the modern princesses except Anna have either been against amor or haven't shown any interest in it. Tiana wasn't interested, Rapunzel never said anything about it, Merida wasn't interested in amor and Elsa was too. Society nowadays paints the picture that needing a man shows that you're weak, and I amor how Anna goes against that. I've seen so many things attacking the classic princesses for wanting amor and I'm really glad that Anna shows that you can want amor in a modern movie and that be okay. Anyway, it's very realistic that she yearns for love, since she hasn't gotten any for the past couple of years in her life.
Her Failing
Well this is a positive title. Another thing that's common in this era is the superwoman trope. Rhythmicmagic deservedly calls the modern princesses the superwomen and I definitely agree. All of the modern woman not only often win at everything they try, but have things that they're extraordinary at. Tiana with cooking, Rapunzel with, well, everything, Merida with archery, Anna with...? Yeah, Anna doesn't really have anything she's amazing at, but she also fails a lot. She needs the help of Kristoff and Olaf and others and that's OKAY! I amor it when characters need help because it shows they're not perfect. Her failing makes me relate to her since I fail on a daily basis.
Her Selflessness
Now the other modern princesses definitely aren't a selfish bunch, far from it, but I wouldn't call them selfless either. Anna takes it to an entirely new level. Her sister has shut her out for no reason (or so Anna thinks), screamed at her, froze her heart, but she never once gives up. She literally sacrifices her life for a girl who doesn't even amor her! The other princesses goals are usually linked with themselves. Tiana in getting a restaurant (though this has partly something to do with her father), Rapunzel to be free and to see the lights, Merida to be free, Anna to get to know her sister and to make things right! I just find this so special and unique!
Sooo, I think that's it :) I amor Anna a lot and I hope that you guys enjoyed this article! Again, this artigo wasn't meant to insult the other princesses, just to show Anna in a different light. Thanks so much for leitura <3
