Let's face it: we live in a man's world. If you don't think that's true, slap yourself and take a look at the real world. Under Iranian Islamic law, if a woman isn't a virgin when she's married, she gets 100 lashes. Harsh. Men are even paid mais than women on average, and that's in the United States.

Now, I am a feminist. Before anyone throws something at me, I want to say that people are misconstruing feminism, and it's making me sick. Feminism isn't about burning bras or hating men, it's about equality. It's about a world where no gender is oppressed. And disney can have a big part in that.

How? Think about it. What do most little girls want to be when they grow up? A princess. And where do they learn that? Disney. Now, of course that little girl will have her dreams crushed, but the time she spent waiting for Prince Charming could have been used doing something useful. Take it from Tiana, "Fairytales can come true, you gotta make 'em happen, it all depends on you." What world will we be in if half the population, scratch that, ALL of the population, views women as dames to be rescued?

Well, gone are the damsel in distress classic princesses. Here is a new age, where the disney god has granted us a warrior princess, a working princess, and the idea that true amor can actually be found between sisters, not apaixonados (gasp! Who'd have thunk?)

disney still has a long way to go, though. Girls may realize that they create their own path, but they also need to realize that there is no one beauty standard.

Girls don't need waists smaller then their heads to be beautiful, or eyes that take up half their face, or long, flowing hair. And nearly every princess has these attributes.

How about a chunky princess, with womanly curves that don't come from not having a ribcage? How about a princess with a pixie cut? And especially (though this will be in the far, far, future) a gay princess?

As you can see, disney is slowly regaining my respect. But they still have a long way to go.

I'm actually looking progressivo, para a frente to watching this a little mais than I did when I had to watch Maleficent. This remake may not live up to the standards of the original but personally it's always been enjoyable to watch.

Tonight's rewatch: Cinderella
Last time watched: 2017-2018

How much did I like this movie as a kid?
The first time I watched cinderela I did like it and there were some changes I liked but then there were some changes I really had to question. Even with the problems I have with this movie I still like to watch it every now and then.

How much of this movie have I forgotten:

Since the...

This is another sequel I haven't seen in forever. Longer than forever, actually. I would say I'm excited to watch this but after Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World I'm not looking progressivo, para a frente to watching this one.

Tonight's rewatch: cinderela II: Dreams Come True
Last time watched: 2002

How much did I like this movie as a kid?
The beginning of this story is exactly the same as the one about Pocahontas 2; I wasn't into the original that much when I was a kid, but then this cartoon disney movie with familiar faces came out, begged my dad to get me a copy, fin. But unlike Pocahontas 2 I actually did...

Here's the artigo for Pocahontas!

I know in the past I've made comments about how I don't like this movie because it's been said that the tale of Pocahontas saving John was a lie and I've also said I can't stand Pocahontas and John together because it's gross Pocahontas was aged up for this movie. However I will watch this movie and just enjoy it without thinking about those things.

By now you should all know what I write about in these artigos so I'll just go ahead and start!

Tonight's rewatch: Pocahontas
Last time watched: Summer of 2011

Now with all the issues, people have with Disney, one of the films that have legitimate grievances is Pocahontas. And as you can imagine, because there ARE legit grievances to be had with Pocahontas, sites like Tumblr have an absolute field dia with it. Personally, the mais research I did on the situation around this film, the mais I was actually fascinated por it.

I know it's easy to write this movie off but how it came to be is a lot mais nuanced than you think. It actually was gonna be a story closer to what happened in history but then Jefferey Katzenberg's overwhelming desire to get another...

As asteriamalfoy recently reported on the club wall, it appears that Moana will soon become the newest member of the disney Princess lineup. The club's reception to the news is a mixed bag, which is the latest example of how the general fanpop opinion (namely, this club's opinion) doesn't always match that of the internet. It's interesting why that is, and I will attempt to find the reason here.

Before going forward, be aware that everything that I consider an "opinion" of fanpop and/or the internet is a generalization. True, there are some users on both this website and the rest of the worldwide...
