Yes.

There are several different ways to get the protein out of animal meat without actually eating meat. Nuts, fruits, and grains have plenty of protein in them. People can also get it (since we're talking about vegetarians and not vegans) from milk, eggs, cheeses, and yogurt. There really isn't any danger of a protein deficiency from a vegetarian diet.

What about the fatty acids that are only in meat?

There is nothing in meat that cannot be found in other foods.

And you can get all those nutrient in one day. Unless you're ONLY eating meat substitutes as your meal, there's no problem.

I think it's fine.

Children are capable of having strong values as well. I don't think it's right to demean that just because you're a parent and older.
A parent can decide to put forth an effort and find a way to allow the child to do what he or she feels he needs to do, while keeping him healthy. All the parent has to do is do some research to find other means for proteins and other neutrients, and tell the child what being a vegetarian entails, and explain what they'll have to eat in place of meat, so they can stay healthy.

"I don't think it's right to demean that just because you're a parent and older" So as a 9 years old I can stay up all night and I don't have to listen to my parents because they can't make me listen? The child sometimes thinks it knows what's good for it, but he/she is often wrong because he/she lacks experience. Experience that the parents have.

Staying up all night is not a moral value. There are plenty vegetarians out there in the world who function just fine. The child isn't spontaneously deciding to invent vegetarianism.

Sure I agree that it's healthier to eat other foods than no comida at all, but still it isn't as healthy as just eat meat and peixe too. Also if children say they amor animals, they can also switch to biological meat(i don't know the exact term but it's meat from animais who had a better life). Also the child strongly opposes to eating meat, because it protests against animais being killed for food. I think switching to biological meat is the compromise the parents and the child would be looking for.

No no and no!

It's a parents responsibility to take care of their children. Meat has protein and other things that are necessary for someones growth. The child can make their own choices when they grow up and mover out. But until then, the parents choose.

I agree. Before the kid can make choices like that, it needs to learn how to make choices first.

OK, I understand what you mean. Thank you

No. Definitely not.

You can eat biological stuff like that the animais had a good life, but those kids really need their proteins. I know two girls who have been a vegetarian since they were 9 or so and they are really short and pale, while their families are tall and tanned(no joke).

Also if that's the case they can't eat eggs, cheese and stuff either. Also then they can't wear leather and stuff.

Actually, vegetarian only means you don't eat animal meats. Vegan is when you don't usa any animal products. And as far as getting protein goes, they can always take vitamins.

Oh so people only should have a fonte if they disagree with you? That's a nice new view on how you debate...
Chaann94 posted over a year ago

No. People shouldn't have to fonte what should be common sense. If you're arguing against vegetarianism, you should already know what vegetarianism actually is.

Kids have no idea what being a vegetarian means. They don't know how meat contains irreplacible proteins and that it can hinder their growth in both height as the growth of their brains as it all needs the proteins that are in meat.

You assume kids defy their parents in this decision: I would applaud my children if they came to such a moral conviction por themselve: it shows they have their own opinion and I really wish my children will be people that stand up for what they believe in

^ I totally agree with you Sappp and I would praise my kids for wanting to be a vegetarian. But being glad that your child has an opinion is something different from letting him/her break down his/her diet "because they believe in something". I'd rather have them to hold a campaign for animal rights when it comes down to using animais for food.
