Yes, I believe in ghosts. I don't really believe in sobrenatural creatures, as the legends stand.
When it comes to ghosts, I believe that they exist, but they rely on memory and legacy. If a being isn't worth remembering, it won't have a ghost or spirit. That's why people don't encounter the ghosts of dead flies, roaches, and sewer rats. Nobody remembers them as individuals after they die.
When it comes to sobrenatural creatures, I believe some form of them exist, but they're probably vastly different than how the most common legends portray them. The legends are probably based on real encounters, but have likely been embellished for dramatic story telling effects.
Encounters...
This happened about 15 years ago, I guess. I was helping some old family friends mover out of their house. I remember hearing that they were moving because their house kept crashing and things were falling over or something like that. I thought they were getting burglarized or vandalized. I was only 6 or 7, so I never paid much attention to their conversations. I remember i had taken all the silverware out of the drawer and separated them, then I went into the living room to get some bubble embrulho, envoltório to package them, but when I stepped back into the kitchen, the light was turned off. When I turned them back on, the knives and forks were standing upright
link, and all the cabinets were open. When I called out for someone, they all fell over. Nothing happened to the spoons, they were still where I left them.
Later, I went to get the something out of the bathroom and the lights turned out again, but this time while i was in there. When i turned the lights back on, the mirror shattered. It wasn't a dramatic shards everywhere shattering. The shards just landed on the counter. It was still terrifying, though.
I'm also pretty sure I say the ghost of a friend's dead cat. I made friends with a girl that moved where I lived from the other side of Texas. The first time I went to her house, they were still kind of unpacking things. When she showed he her house, I saw two cachorros and two gatos (a black and a brown cat) wandering around the house. Later on, we were looking through a stack of pictures her mom just unpacked. She pulled out one picture of the brown cat and said "Aww, I miss *whatever his name was*", and she told me that he died a couple days before they moved. I told her that I just saw that cat laying on her bed. She asked me what it looked like, I told her it had two different colored ears. She told me that her cat had the same two different colored ears. (You couldn't see both ears in the picture because he was half hiding under something)
My mom told me that I used to talk to a man outside my window, when we lived on the 4th floor. I would tell her that he was in the Army (we lived on base) and he told me to be a good little girl and things like that.
