If that's what the person wants to do with their body, then it should be done.
If the person doesn't want to become fertilizer, then it shouldn't be done to them.

There are many things that could be done with a deceased human body. Limiting your choice to just one option never sits well with me, regardless of how productive the decision may be. You're always taking something away from another feild.

i would definitely want to be used to the good of the human community, i think that is the most noble way to go, its por helping people after your gone, instead of just being a rotting dead corpse, after all, you are just dead :P

There are a lot of alternatives than burial, cremation, or being turned into fertilizer. I don't think enough realize just how many alternatives they are. I don't think any option should be taken away from people.

Well it seems a bit freakish and their families may not approve of it, but if they do and or the person wants their body to be used as a fertilizer then who am I to say whether it's ethical or not?

^ I used to think that way, too. But after all, it's not up to us to decide what matters for everyone. And a person generally has the right to determine what happens to their belongings after death. And their bodies are their property.

hmm...yes, it's a nice way of putting it Tyler, though your respostas are generally short, that was agood point :) still, it's not like anybody was doing anything with it though :P

The bodies are locked in two boxes and filled with preservative chemicals. The bodies don't even touch the soil.

Like everyone has said, only if those are your wishes. I like the idea, but used in a way like this:

Coral recife burial sounds pretty cool, you get to become part of an ecosystem. I also like the idea of being planted with a árvore - that sounds really nice. Somewhere deep in a forest where my árvore will hopefully live for a long time and thrive. I amor the idea of becoming part of a tree.

Now that I think about it, another thing that really needs to be considered is what sort of things these bodies will be fertilizing. If it's crops that are to be eaten por humans (or even animals) some people may be angry or horrified to find out they're eating comida fertilized por human beings, so that may be a problem. Another thing if its crops, not everyone would be able to be made into fertilizer - some people die of diseases that probably wouldn't be healthy to put into soil. So you couldn't mandate everyone being turned into fertilizer - there would have to be a screening process no matter what.

hmm...maybe they could sort the bodies after death? i mean i see bodies mais as objects, come on people, we can still have a funeral and all, but the bodies will just be put to good human use, that sounds economical and wise to me, and no, i...i don't have a problem with eating my ansestors it uhm, it doesnt make the comida less tasty yum yum!

If a person would like to donate organs when they are deceased, it should be OK to use their carcass for agricultural purposes if they consent to it. If not, then they could do anything to their own body.
