What do you think the most controversial topic there is to debate about?

I think that the most controversial topic would probably be religion because there's no solid proof for any religion, so it must be a hard topic to debate about. Plus people feel so strongly about religion so...

Whether a person is right or wrong in their beliefs, values and/or assertions. Whenever a person takes a debate position that is personal to him/her - when the person has an emotional attachment to his/her position - that's where the controversy is going to be, to say nothing of acrimony. It could be any topic. If you feel that you have the best dog in the world, and someone says you're wrong, there will be blood, no matter how dispassionately that other person can argue their position.

That's why it is so important for us as debaters to work on disconnecting our emotional responses from our debates.

adoption isn't particullarly contriversial......the most contrieversal thing in the debating world is simply religion. from athiesm, to christianity, to the amish, muslims, scientologists--- al have there benefits, all have their faults, the whole concept of religion is very thought provoking and intruiging, but when you bring other issues into it it can be very contriversal.

I would have to say religion.
A couple of these topics (males vs. female, abortion, and evolution) actually stem from religion and its principles. There are millions of individuals that prefer to have faith, and millions of individuals who prefer logic.

Faith vs. logic.

A debate that has appeared in countless arguments.

Especially in the discussion of religions.

It's one of the issues that I always have difficulty discussing, especially with an Atheist.

I think it is Religion,or the concept of a deity in general.

I honestly don't know. Realistically, I think it just depends on the person, where they live, and what topics are big issues in their environments.
