So,there is a lot of argument going on about Elena's and Damon's actions in 3x14,3x15.Especially about a SE scene that supposedly dashes Damon's hopes folllowed por a Damon and Rebekah?(probably but not 100% sure it is her)sex scene.I see our fandom going pessimistic over this but we really shouldn't.On the contrary,we should be happy!!!
The truth is,we had it very easily the first half of the season.We got,finally, a mutual kiss,our first mutual kiss!!!!!!So,it was about to get harder from now on.An epic journey like DE'S is bound to have many obstacles and bumps on the road.That is a part of its beauty!!!
To be mais specific:Elena now is very confused.The kiss forced her to accept what she was trying really hard to deny:That Damon is mais than just her friend,that she has feelings for him.In the same moment she feels guilty about those feelings because "they are not right" and she "can't".Not she "doesn't want to" she "can't".So she is bound to try really hard to deny them.Enter Stefan.If the spoilers are correct,Stefan finds out about the kiss and punches Damon.Could this mean that he will be going after Elena again and that he will start being his old self?That is good for us!!!In my opinion,DE should not start a realtionship with Stefan not being himself.Because if they do,the one thing we do not want to happen will happen:Damon will be the rebound guy,not the first choice(SE and BD fãs allready use this argument against us and it has to stop).No matter if Elena knows she has feelings for him too,she will always miss the relationship she had with Stefan,feel she betrayed him and not supported him when he becomes himself again.And eventually she will leave Damon to be with him.Because she believes in segundo chances.She 'll think she owes him one.So,let her give it to him now,I say.I don't think she will forgive him in 3x14,it is way too soon.But maybe they will start trying to figure things out,for the sake of their relationship,trying to learn each other again.That is good because then Elena will underastand how important Damon is to her because,naturally,he will pull away and maybe she won't be able to take him for granted anymore.Also,she will realise that things will never be the same with her and Stefan anymore and will never be again and that she is holding on to a memory.She changed,he changed.She is not the little girl seeking comfort for her parent's death and Stefan can't pretend to not have a bad side.
Damon will of course be broken.He had begun to hope like he he never allowed himself to hope before and he sees his hopes dashed(could also be that he misundestands a SE scene,thinks they are reuniting,sleeps with Rebekah and Elena finds out and then thinks she can't trust him and try to work things out with Stefan).So he acts like he is known to act in situations like this:He does something reckless,in our case sleeping with Rebekah.I don't know how Elena will react once she finds out(allthough I suspect she will try to show indefference),but I expect that jealousy will be on the table,intetional or not.Then Damon will start to pull away and I agree with him.Let him show her how it is without him.Let her see she can't always suppose he will be around.Things have changed between them and all can not go back the way they were before Stefan left,as much as she wants to.I reaaly like Elena's character.She is a decent person with high morals and will try to do the right and moral thing.But I feel she will see that right and wrong have changed.
So my fellow DE'rs,don't worry!!!Don't be bothered about a possible SE reunion because we need that in order to have DE,as odd as it sounds.Don't be bothered about a Damon-Rebekah sex scene because a:It will mean nothing to him,he loves only one girl and her name is Elena and b:it may work on our advantage.Enjoy the obstacles because they make our journey much mais epic,brilliant,exciting.As Damon said "It is right,just not right now".
