I actually started crying while drawing this one up. If Phoebus is the villain of this story, then Quasimodo definitely qualifies as the hero. When he was just a baby, his parents abandoned him on the steps of Notre-Dame because he was so ugly. Frollo took pity on the poor child, and raised him as his son (ish) and appointed him bell-ringer so that he didn't have to deal with the real world. Quasimodo is perfectly happy with this... until one day, he wanders outside during the Feast of Fools. He is appointed the Pope of Fools for having the ugliest face, and there he catches a glimpse of Esmeralda. She is literally the most beautiful thing he's ever seen, and the only person other that Frollo that ever showed him any kindness. Esmeralda, however, fears him for his horrendous face and wants to be "just friends." Quasi is okay with this - anything to be with her.But the truth is, Quasimodo is the only character with real beauty in this show - Esmeralda is too naive and air-headed, Phoebus is... well, Phoebus, but Quasimodo is the only one who loves Esmeralda for anything other than her body. The song, "Les Cloches" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbKYksxeXh8&feature=more_related (And if you're wondering about what his face will look like, I personally assure you that no amount of make-up will ever defile this man's hotness - and the singing is so beautiful, the acting so genuine... I think he's my favorite out of all of them, not counting Gringoire.) Also, for a deeper look into his character: "Dieu, que le monde est injuste" (God, this world is unfair) I was SO going to use these lyrics, but I couldn't pick one verse!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFnquo2neqs&feature=more_related Oh, yeah - no, his head isn't on fire. I tried to give him the real Quasimodo's hair - it didn't work out as well as I'd hoped. :(

Note: Hey, guys! Bet you all thought I forgot about this. College life has been off to a stressful start, so I've been neglecting my composição literária to deal with it. Nonetheless, I will continue to update as I can. This semester has been a lot easier so far so I'll do my best. I posted it to FanFiction but I forgot to post it here.
