you know what...after seeing the 6x05 promo i was sad and afraid...but finaly its good if damon is the only one whot get back at home...separate bamon will realise how each other mean in their heart...they'll probably realise that they not just care about each other but how big are their amor for each other...they're in amor they just dont have realising it YET. so they need to be separate...damon will realise that he was wrong about his amor for elena...it will not be enough.. Damon would be motivation enough to get Bonnie's magic sorta like the hunter who kidnapped Damon in season 4 to get Bonnie to use magic for Silas 3.)
