Anyone else in amor with everything that's been out about anastasia the musical? It looks absolutely fantastic. The cast is just phenomenal, especially Christy Altomare who plays Anastasia. She is so genuine as an actress, and starts to tear up when she sings the songs. I wonder how the new villain is going to play out, I heard mixed things about him. I think some people are too harsh on some damsels in distress. i've noticed that often the girls who get kidnapped and such are often put in situations that they can't manage to get out of (kidnapped por somebody stronger than them, or put into a spell they cannot break), so it's reasonable to think somebody like Odette or Snow White would need help to be freed. I saw The cisne Princess for the first time today. I thought it was pretty good, but not one of my favorites. Also I can see where people are coming from when they say it's a disney rip-off, but I don't agree that it's a rip-off. I think they were trying to make an adult story family friendly, which makes it look similar to a lot of the disney Fairytales. Posted over a year ago

I got to see The Book of Life a few days ago. It was all right. not as good as it looked, considering Guillermo del Toro is a producer and he's one of my two favorito directors. I admit, I mostly saw it for La Muerte. who Maria ends up with is very cliche and predictable. I am glad they didn't make Joaquin a stereotypical jock jerk, though. he was rather arrogant but he was a good guy at heart. I recently rewatched The Black Cauldrong. It was as good as I remembered, but it reminded me how much I loved Princess Eilonwy as a kid, and how much I still amor her now. I always knew that if disney would succeed at musicais that Dreamworks ( Shrek) and now raposa Animation would succeed hopefully at some of their great work on Broadway. anastasia would be beautiful. I'd like to see at least one classic heroine and one modern heroine in the mix, too. just because they came out before or after our childhoods (unless you're still growing up now with the modern ones!) doesnt mean we never grew up WITH them.
