I was thinking of this while watching the other dia the Nostalgia Critic's review of the cisne Princess, and how critical and overly nitpicky he was in general towards this movie...

And that made me think how almost all non-Disney filmes are treated in this way (of course, there are a few notable exceptions as the Studio Ghibli films and the Dreamworks ones), that audiences feel the need that if they are animated filmes which aren't Disney, they must be held in an impossibly high standard and they must please every demand of the audience.

Why is that? Why is it that any animated non-Disney movie must be held to a pretentious standard? Why can't filmes just be themselves and relax, if they want to be fairy tale musicais they can be, not every movie needs to be as "dramatic" as Secret of Nimh or the Prince of Egypt. (some of the few animated non-Disney films that the critics praise for once).

I don't get it. If disney repeats the same cliches, for many people it's all fine and dandy, but these filmes must only be about dramatic and pretentious content in order to be appreciated.

How does it feel to be voted fã of the month?

It feels great! I really wan't expecting it all that much. The last time I won fã of the mês for a club was on the disney club easier this ano and before that was a few years atrás on the disney Princess club. I guess I'm mais active than I thought.

Why do you think the fãs chose you?

Probably because a lot of the pesquisas on the club are asked por me but they're usually beauty polls. I think there are others with mais original ideas but it still feels great. I guess I must do mais than I think I do.

Do you think you deserved to be fã of the month?...

I saw this on the DP spot, written por AudreyFreak and I thought it would be an interesting idea to do the same with some of the heroines. But instead of doing them all in one article, I decided to separate them and write one artigo fro each heroine. I do this for 2 reasons. Firstly, because it needs a lot of time and with the homework and stuff I will never be able to finish it. The segundo reason is that this club is not at all active and we try to bring it back to life, so I think that it will make people visit it mais often (if you like it and you're interested in leitura the seguinte ones...)....

So I've been lately into classic mythology and literature all of a sudden and I thought it'd be a good idea to see popular characters from animated filmes matched up to characters from greek mythology.

Obviously i won't be using any characters from Hercules, since that would be easy, and it's mais fun to see comparisons with different things. I wanted to make it balanced and add also non-Disney, but it was a little difficult. I hope this match up is good, and tell me if you have some suggestions for some characters i didn't choose or matches you think fit better.

Sooo, let's get started.
