I wanted to tell him that I loved him, although my idea of amor was different back then. I thought amor was if you had a best friend that was a guy and you made each other happy that that was love. I still believe that’s mostly true added with what I’ve learned on the subject. I couldn’t find the words to tell him so I looked around and when I looked up, I was given an excuse. It just happened that Seto and I were standing under some mistletoe. I gave him a quick peck on the cheek like I saw in filmes and he blushed when he looked at me. I was blushing when I said, “I-I amor you.” It was just like what happened last night. “I amor you, too.” He said and took off one of the two necklaces he had on and gave it to me. “It belonged to my mother. I-I want you to have it.” “It’s so pretty…” I said. It really was beautiful. It was made with black rope and had a diamond at the end. He helped me put it on. I just remembered that that was the same colar I still wear today. Seto returned the peck on my cheek and the scene changed again.
It was still the same dia since none of the presents were open yet. I was talking to Seto on the sofá but my memory was aimed at a different conversation. “Thank you, sir. And merry Christmas.” Said a woman that looked like the owner of the orphanage. “Kyra, dear. Come and meet your new father.” Seto and I exchanged confused looks and walked over to the woman. I looked at the man who left for two weeks but ended up being two months and counting. Not that I’m the one doing the counting. “What a lovely young lady.” He said. “I think I’ll call you Emma.” I realized that my name was never Emma. That was given to me; my name was Kyra. Kyra Taka. There was something strange about that man; other than the fact that he had uncannily pointed ears. It may be a cliché, but he was giving of strange vibes.
I was outside saying my goodbyes and giving hugs. When I got in the back of the man’s limo, I turned back and saw Mokuba and Seto crying. Another fast forward. “You are never to speak to those friends of yours or go back to that country ever again.” The man said on the plane. That was where my reminiscences ended and I was conscious again.
