Heh, since I didnt put her "past" into her bio, due to extreem migranes, I decided to do this!
Mel was tired. Her wings just barely keeping her in the midnight air. Her eyes lit up when she saw the small, shaded place. She angeled her wings and glided into the small cave. She sat on the floor and pet her wings. She crawled over to the ledge and looked at the water. She smiled and tucked in her wings. She crawled back into the cave and looked at the falcons. She curled up and scootched back into the wall. She closed her eyes and quickly fell asleep, exhasted from the flight.
Mel woke up, curled up and looking at grates. Her small body, exhasted from all the tests she was put through. She was pressed up to the back of her dog crate. Her hands clasping each other, her arms burned and wrapped around her legs. She watched the feet leave. She looked over at another experiment. Failed. It looked like a female, scales replaced skin. Mel stuck her tiny fingers out of her crate, and so did the peixe experiment. They touched fingers, then slowly the one withs scales' breathing stopped. Mel started to cry. Her being four years old, death didnt settle in well with her. Mel cried herself asleep. She awoke when a "scientist" kicked her crate. The latch unlocked and a hand stuck inside.
"Come on." He said. Mel sniffled, and grabbed his big hand. She was pulled out of the crate.
Mel gasped and her eyes snapped open. She put her hand over her heart, panting. Tears filled her eyes. She looked at the sunlight, slowly creeping in. She stood up, and listened to the falcons screaching. Her breathing returned to normal. She fingered the gauge on her arm, where she had sliced open the night before. She dived off the ledge and opened her wings. The sunshine felt good on her wings. She joined the falcons as they flew off, in procurar of food.
A few hours later, Mel had three rats, and two packets of powdered leite laid out on tinfoil. She laid stones around kindle, and swiped a match across the wall. The match caught fire, and she tossed it into the kindle. She watched in burn. She hated fire, but she had to stand it, or freeze in the fall night. She opened her wings to let them warm, and wrapped a rato in foil. She stuck a stick through it, and roasted it over the fire. She listened to the fledglings settle, and smelled the rato burn. She took it off the fogo and looked at three falcons, instead of in their nests, on the ledge on the small cave. She tilted her head, and one came closer. She didnt feel uncomfortable, she knew these birds. She held her hand out, and the falcão brushed its head againsts Mel's hand. Mel smiled as the three birds gathered around her. She laid her windbreaker out on the ground, and the falcons settled there. She set the foil wrapped rato on the foil seguinte to the raw rats.
"Sleep well." She said softly. She unwrapped the rat, and popped a peice of meat into her mouth.
Later, she was curled up in the back of the small cave. She closed her eyes and fell asleep.
Mel ran through the thick forest. She heard Erasers snarling. She hit branches out of the way and scraped her hands on them. She panted, and ignored the pain in her leg. She heard gunfire, and she ran faster. She heard them gain on her. She skidded to a stop, a cliff right there. She heard them come closer. She stood and stared at the ground. She got dizzy. She heard the Erasers, only yards away from her. She made the quick disicion to jump. She dived off of the cliff and heard Erasers yell. She paniced. Not knowing how to use her wings. She snapped them open. Her wings caught the air, and recoil hit her like a bunch of bricks. Like a parachute opening. She winced and started loosing altitude. Fast. She started flapping. Up, then down, up, then down, up, then down. She didnt have time to focus on how "cool" this was. She had to fly out of there. She started flapping harder, and she went up higher. She yelled,
"Take that!!!" She taunted. One Eraser jumped, sure she would grab Mel. Mel's eyes widened. She dived. She angled her wings and flew out of harm's way. She flew out of there, dodging bullets. One hit her wing.
"[Insert cuss word of choice]!!!!"
Mel woke up and screamed. Panting, she looked down at herself, and looked at the falcons, huddled up against her. She pet them and got her breathing under control. They walked away from her, and dived out of the cave. She stood up, and ran, opening her wings, and jumped out of the cave. She opened her wings and streched them out, her wingspan of 15 feet, was covered in a swarm of falcons. She smiled. She called out, just like a falcon, and dived. She called back and dived with her. She flew over the lake, and ventured out. The falcons screached, and turned back, not willing to leave their territory. Mel looked down at the ground. Everything looked so tiny. She closed her eyes and flew faster, flapping harder. She soon was over a highway. She circled, only a speck in the air to everyone below. She dived, and tucked in her wings. She landed feet first on an 18 wheeler. To fast for the human eye to see. She ducked, so no one could see her, then sat on the truck. She fell asleep, hitching a ride to.... where ever the heck this truck was going.
When she awoke, she sat up. She looked at the blinding sun and shaded her eyes wih her arm. She coughed and looked around. They werent moving. She was in a small looking town, full of truck stops, and small diners. She jumped off the truck, and landed feet first on asphalt. She was hungry, and pale. The sun felt good on her skin. She started walking along a road. She checked her pockets. She pulled her wallet out, and then bills.
"26 dollars." She said. Money from Fang was almost all she got on the job she was working. She put the bills back into her wallet, then folded her wallet back up, shoving it into her pocket. A blue pick truck up drove up seguinte to her. She stiffened. A window rolled down, she got ready to run.
"Need a ride miss?" A man said, a deep southern accent.
"Uh, no, no thank you..." Mel answered, looking at him.
"Are you sure? I havent seen you around these parts. Are you sure you arent lost?"
Mel looked at him, she did her bambi eyes.
"Can you please tell me where I am, Mr.?" She said in her soft, pleading voice. He swallowed.
"This is Ross Texas miss!" He answered, his southern accent now made since. Mel gasped. She had rode her way to the middle of Texas.
"Thank you Mr." She said in her small voice. It made him feel guilty.
"Come here, let me give you a ride. You can stay at my place." He said sweetly.
"Dont trust anyone Mel..." She thought to herself. But she nodded. He opened the door to his pick up truck, and she climbed in. She buckled up, and put her hands in her pockets. Mel shifted in her assento uncomfortably as the truck started to mover down the dirt road.
"Exactly.....how far away is your place?" She asked.
"About 5 miles up this road." He replied. She shivered in her seat, even though it was about 100 degrees inside. She closed her eyes, and they were there. The truck stoped, and she listened to the engine hiss as it stopped. She opened her eyes to a small, cottage.
"Well, this is it!." He said and slapped his thighs.
"Lets go!" He said, unbuckling his seatbelt and opening his door.
"Okay..." Mel said unsure. She unbuckled, and flinched when the drivers door slammed shut. She opened the door, standing on the carpet, she was about three feet off the ground. The man came over and offered a hand.
"No thanks, Ive been dropped from higher places." She said, and shot him a smile as she jumped down. Inside, she was screaming at herself.
"MEL! WHAT IF THIS GUY IS A- A- A RAPIST OR SOMETHING!!??" She was screaming inside.
"Just inside. I hope you dont mind children."
"CHILDREN!!! SEE!! RAPIST!!!" She was yelling at herself in her mind. Mel stopped.
"You know... It was great meeting you... but I have to go...uh... do something...." Mel stuttered. She ran behind a rock formation and opened her wings. She blured before anyone could see her.
Hours later. Mel was exhasted. The night sky made her want to sleep more. She heard a helicopter. Her eyes widened. She looked down, right below her was a zoo. She shivered. procurar lights came on. Mel gasped and dived down into a roofless enclosure. There was a small cave. She crept in. A terrifingly big grizzly urso lay sleeping inside. Mel has delt with worst. So she wasnt scared. She sat inside the cave. And fell asleep.
Mel sat in an alley, a cardboard box is what she lived in. She was homeless. At the age of ten, she had to run to stay away from orphan edges. She had homeless friends. A scraggly old woman, a teenage runaway boy, and a middle aged man. The teenage boy pulled her into his lap and stroked her hair, the cardboard box keeping the rain off of them. She cuddled against him, craving his warmth. He started humming. He was like a father to her. If she ever knew her own. She was hungry. She could feel her own ribs, pressing against her skin. He held Mel close. Mel felt at home. Even if she was homeless.
"Zach?" She asked in her sweet, soft voice. The boy looked down at her.
"Yeah sweety?" He answered softly.
"Do you think I have a daddy?" She asked.
"One who loves me like you do?" His coração dropped.
"I dont know Mel." He answered. He held her a bit closer. She started to tear.
"Shhh..... your okay..." He said and stroked her hair. She sniffled. She hugged him tightly, and he hugged back.
"Mel. I have to go find us some food. You can stay here with Hellena." He whispered into her ear. Mel nodded and crawled out of the box. wearing only an oversized suéter, camisola and a pair of dirty, torn jeans. She crawled over to an old woman, and leaned against her.
"Hello Mel." She said in her soft, old, and sweet voice.
"Hi Hellena." Mel said softly. Hellena wrapped her skinny arms around Mel, and Mel did as well.
"Im hungry..." Mel said as she pulled away.
"Oh honey... hush hush...." Hellena said and patted Mel's head softly. Mel smiled and ignored her hunger. A group of church members came por the alley. Mel gasped with joy. She knew the church members. Mel stood up shakily, her legs a bit rubbery. She walked over and looked at them with her bambi eyes.
"Hello." Mel said softly and sweetly.
"Mel, we have to talk to you." The old woman said sweetly. Mel started to step back.
"W-Why?" Mel asked, scared they would take her away from Zach, and Hellena.
"I think we have your parents." The church group parted, an Fang stood there. Devin beside him. Mel stared at Fang and Devin and took a step away. She slowly shook her head.
"No. Zachy is my daddy." She took another step back, just and Zach stepped back into the alley.
"Mel? Who are they?" Zach asked, pointing to Fang and Devin.
"He's my daddy! Mel yelled, pointing to Zach. Zach rushed to Mel and knelt down to her, hugging her.
"Who are you?! What do you want from us?!" He yelled at Fang and Devin.
"Get off my daughter!" Fang yelled and lunged at Zach. Mel screamed.
Zach stood up and grabbed Mel, pulling her out of the way of Fang. Devin came behind Zach. Zach bolted. Mel hung onto Zach, the one who found her, nursed her back to health, and loved her. Fang and Devin ran after him. Zach ducked into the o espaço between to buildings.
"Mel hush..." He said, putting a finger on her lips.
"But Zachy....what if it is my daddy?" She asked. His coração tore. He swallowed hard.
"Then.... I might have to give you to them." He said. Then Mel gasped. She held onto him tightly.
"But Zachy....I want you to be my daddy...." She teared. Zach stepped out of the crevis.
"I amor you Mel. But these could be you parents." He admited. It was like fire, burning through his heart. Mel sniffled, and let him hold her in his arms. Fang ran over and snatched Mel from Zach.
"THIS IS MY DAUGHTER! STAY AWAY FROM HER!" Fang yelled, holding Mel close.
"NO! ZACH!!" Mel screamed, reaching for Zach. Zach held out his pinkie to Mel. Mel hooked her pinkie into his. Mel was pulled away por Fang.
"Mel!" He teared up.
"We found you!" He let tears slip from his eyes and held Mel close.
"NO! I WANT ZACH!!!" She tried to escape Fang's grasp. Zach couldnt stand watching Mel struggle like that. He shut his eyes tightly.
Mel woke up. Tears slipped from her eyes. She remembered how Zach took care of her like a father. She burst into tears. The zoo was about to open, and the urso started to wake up. Mel stood up and pet the bear. It roared. Then Mel opened her wings. She took off and blurred....
WOOOOOOOW! That was much longer than expected! Hope you enjoy!!!
