I cant answer for other people but I know I dont like the Vampire Diaries mais than Twilight but I do like them. They have filled the gaps in between the Twilight movies. People probably tend to like the Diaries alittle mais because they're closer to traditional vampiros than the Twilight vamps. Thats one of the things that I amor about Twilight...its not traditional.
