A lot of people say this, and it always cracks me up. The fictional couples I like have absolutely nothing to do with my real life.

LOL! Nope, I'm not really a relationship kind of girl... yet. But the one real relationship I've had was nothing like any of my favorite ships. Maybe a smidgen like Huddy but the relationship was before I fell in love with House/Huddy.

I could never go through the drama/pain the couples I ship go through. I usually keep real life and tv shows seperate.

It might be true for some people, but it's not true at all for me. Television is entertainment... so I like the couples that entertain me. But are their relationships anything like my relationship? Absolutely not (and I am VERY glad about that). And when I do find a relationship on television that I "ship" that does resemble my relationship- it's just a coincidence because most couples I ship are nothing like my relationship.
Same thing goes for most of my favorite tv characters... they are great for tv b/c they are entertaining but if they existed in reality I'd probably want nothing to do with them.

I don't know... Sometimes couples have something in common with my fiancé and me, but mostly not. I do believe though that the kind of shows you like tell a lot about your personality.

The TV couples I ship are nothing like my relationship, but my fave movie couple is VERY simlar.

Nah, I have a tendency to ship angsty and dysfunctional couples, my real life relationships don't fall under either category.

Not the truth for me. No crazy police partner whom I continue to remain loyal to while everybody looses faith in him for me, nor do I want to have an affair with my boss the fifty-something district attorney. However the couples I ship do entertain me. As for my favorite TV characters, it really depends if I'd want to meet them if they were real.

Depends I guess. I doubt anyone who ships Delena or Spuffy will have much in common in their actual relationships (hopefully not anyway). But Brucas is a lot like my 1st one unfortunately.

Television is not realistic by default. And even if some couples are close to being realistic, it still doesn't mean that your RL relationship will be/are like a couple you ship. TV is an entertainment and even though I think some of my ships have genuinly beautiful relationships (some of them quite realistic, at least some aspects of them) it has nothing to so with my own relationship.

I think that in TV we ship the couples that are angsty and somewhat tragic etc but in real life i think we want to happy a happy normal, kinda cheesy relationship.
