Geoff, Trent, Sadie, Katie, and all of the people who didn't return went off to find help after the bus crashed.
They weren't there when the others made it to the abandoned film lot, and Chris announced that only the people who were at the film lot at the time would be competing in season 3.
Geoff, Trent, Sadie, Katie, and all of the others who weren't able to compete will most likely be hosting and appearing in the TDWT aftermath.
