Summary: The story is about Tony and his meeting with Louisa. Italics are flashbacks.
The blood in his veins froze. Tony was sitting on the most uncomfortable chair in his whole life and that made him crazy. Being a nervous wrack would be overstated, but it hit the mark. It was just a cheap, plastic seat. Not ideal for hospitals. Relatives and friends, who spent 24 hours here, needed something better, he thought. Beside him, in front of him and everywhere around him – A rush of colours running up and down the hallways. Nurses with clothes, coloured like the arco iris, arco-íris sewed wounds or stood seguinte to worried parents. Tony noticed just a few things he concentrated on, but the rest was one, big blur. He was concerned. He felt fear. He wanted to be with Ziva. Right now, it was his biggest wish. But the doctors didn’t let him. Inside, he was about to loose his temper, but outside he appeared calm.
Tony prepared pipoca for another movie night full of joy. Chinese comida and some Tequila, like the last few times, made this evening perfect. The only thing he waited for was Ziva. Impatient glances at his watch didn’t fast-forward time. He picked up the phone to call her, when he heard a knock at the door. Tony opened it with his best smile and saw Ziva, who didn’t look good.
“Are you okay?” he asked and went a few steps away from the door so she could walk in. But she didn’t move.
“Tony… You do not want me to come in after I told you what I need to tell you.” This mystical answer was all she whispered.
“Who’s dead?” It was meant as a joke, but you never know with her.
“Tony, I’m pregnant.” Ziva stared to the floor now; tried to blink away the tears and avoided his shocked face. She couldn’t look into his eyes. Becoming pregnant hadn’t been her plan. She didn’t feel ready for raising a child. A mother should feel anything, but she felt nothing. And Ziva feared that Tony, the man she loved so much, wasn’t mature enough.
“You do not have to stay with me.” she mumbled. Tony gave her a piercing look. He didn’t know what to say or to do. He hadn’t ever been in this situation.
Suddenly there sat a little girl on the former vacant assento seguinte to him. Her blonde, straight hair was tied up to pigtails, like Abby’s. With her sweet green eyes she looked at Tony. She was at most 6 years old and had lots of freckles on her nose and cheeks.
“Hello.” she said friendly.
“Hello.”
“Why do you look so sad?”
“I wait for the doctors to tell me something new about my girlfriend. And you?” Tony replied with a smile. He knew she was just a little girl and the wrong person to talk about his problems, but he needed to talk and there was nobody else.
“I wait for my Mommy to tell me something about my Daddy.” Her eyes went to the floor, like Ziva’s a few weeks ago.
“I’m Tony.” he introduced himself.
“I’m Louisa. Why is your girlfriend here in hospital? What’s her name?” Tony started to like the curious, little girl.
“Ziva. She’s pregnant and she had an accident. The doctors want to know if everything is okay with her and our baby.”
“You can’t do that.”
“I can do what I want to do.” This discussion seemed endless. For 20 minutos now, they were standing in the Men’s room, discussing if Ziva was able to work or not.
“It’s not good for the baby. It’s dangerous, for both of you.” Tony leant against the white sink, Ziva standing in front of him.
“Calm down. I’m fine; you do not need to worry.” she smiled and put her right hand on his face.
“I’ll telling Gibbs, if you don’t do.”
“You will not tell Gibbs. I will tell Gibbs. We will tell him. But not now. End of story.”
“I decided to be with you.” Tony’s arguments became worse and worse. Ziva was way better in discussions than he was.
“I know. And I amor you for this. But that does not mean you have to be overprotective.” Then she left their Men’s room without giving Tony the chance to say something against that.
“What accident?” Louisa asked and woke Tony up from his daydream in a perfect world not so far away. This conversation had happened that morning.
“She wanted to catch a bad guy and then she fell down.”
“DiNozzo with me, McGee and David take his apartment.” Gibbs said and they went around the apartment house, with their armas in their hands. There was no sign of Petty Officer Nolan. Ziva opened the door and nodded to McGee. They both went in. It was unfriendly and dirty. Nothing you want to live in. Nolan’s cozinha was a mess and even dirtier than the corridor. It smelled awful and Ziva was about to throw-up the little breakfast she had ate that morning. Suddenly they heard a loud noise in the bathroom. Ziva ran in and saw Nolan climbing out of the window, onto the fogo exit stairs. Ziva climbed out too and tried to ran after him, which wasn’t very easy. In this moment she realized Tony’s words. That something could happen to their baby. She knew he had been right that morning. Ziva almost had Nolan when he turned around and pushed her over the fogo stair. With her left hand she managed to hold on the handrail out of metal, the gun in her right hand fell to the ground. The ground was just a few feet away, but far enough to harm her baby.
“McGee!” Ziva screamed. He was up near the bathroom window and tried to come down as fast as possible. In the corners of her eye she could see Tony and Gibbs sprinting to her. But her hands felt weak, Ziva slipped off the cold handrail and fell down.
“Is your girlfriend a police woman?”
“Something similar, she’s working as an agent for the NCIS. You maybe don’t know it though…” Tony explained. 6 ano old girl don’t know about NCIS, he was sure.
“I know NCIS. My uncle is a Marine. My dad is a police officer. That’s the reason he’s here. He was shot.” Louisa said softly. Every time she talked about her father she became sad.
“I’m sorry. He’s going to be okay.” Tony answered and tried to cheer Louisa up, who tried to cheer him up.
“Louisa! Honey, come with me. Daddy woke up.” A young woman walked up to them with fast steps and took the little girl’s hand.
“Okay, Mommy. I hope your girlfriend and your baby are okay.” she said and waved goodbye to Tony.
“I hope she didn’t bother you.” Her mother asked him nicely.
“No. She was very nice.” Tony watched Louisa, who was now the happiest girl on the planet and her mother walking toward the elevators.
“Agent DiNozzo?” somebody said behind him.

This chair was way mais comfortable than the last one. Tony sighed. He watched Ziva sleeping and wanted her to wake up. He needed to tell her a lot. The time almost flew por and so did the persons who visited her; Abby, Ducky, McGee and Gibbs, but Ziva didn’t wake up. Around midnight Tony finally found some sleep, while watching the stars shining in the dark night sky.
“Tony…” someone whispered from far away. Ziva’s voice. His mind convinced him to wake up and there he saw her. A pale ghost with a breathing tube in her nose, that was Ziva.
“Hey, my Ninja. How do you feel?”
“Breathing hurts.” she admitted. The try to shift her weight failed and ended with pain.
“You have two cracked ribs and a sprained wrist.”
“And the baby?” Silence, only his swallowing could be heard. Tony didn’t want to answer, couldn’t answer. So he just shook his head.
“You lost it. The impact was too much.” It felt like the shot of a gun. Crying was the last thing Ziva wanted now. Even though she felt she was allowed to. For him, it was hard to watch Ziva struggle with this loss. He was so used to the strong woman, that he couldn’t watch her now. Tony stood up and crawled under the thin blanket. He snuggled to Ziva and put his arms around her waist.
“Everything’s going to be okay. We’ll have children, later in the future. I promise.”
“Okay.” Ziva’s voice became mais quiet and her breath softened.
“Can you promise me something?” Tony asked. He was as tired as she was.
“What?”
“If we have a baby girl, we’ll name her Louisa.”
“Why?”
“That’s a long story.” Ziva was too tired to argue, so she just nodded. Tony kissed her forehead and fell asleep.
