Episode 31: Intelligente

Narrated por Thomas The Tank Engine

Song: link

Narrator: Ah, Italy. I always amor visiting this country. Every chance I get, I help out my friends on the Italian Pacific. A rail line that connects Rome with many parts of Italy. There's even a bridge that goes to the nearby island of Sicily. The Italian Pacific also runs north through the Austrian Alps, up to the two towns of Badgastein, and Graz. A beautiful morning greeted me as I stopped at the museum station with two passenger cars.
Thomas: *Watching his passengers get out* I wish I could bring Annie & Clarabel with me. They'd amor all this scenery.
Narrator: Just then, Gina arrived.
Gina: Good morning Thomas.
Thomas: Good morning Gina. What are you up to today?
Gina: Stone is needed to build a new museum in Bologna. I am to take it all the way there.
Thomas: Would you like some help?
Gina: Thomas. I am perfectly capable of handling this job myself. Last time you tried to help, we almost got crushed por big boulders.
Thomas: That was three years ago. Besides, I've taken the route to Bologna before. I know how to get there.
Gina: No Thomas. I can do it por myself.
Narrator: And she huffed away.
Passengers: *Getting on board Thomas' train*
Narrator: Running low on patience, Gina wasted no time entering the shunting yards. Mia was waiting for her.
Mia: Ah, hello Gina. Are you excited to start your journey to the new museum?
Gina: You bet. Im'ma so excited my boiler will burst.
Mia: Don't do that. You'll need it to pull your heavy train. All seven cars are loaded with stone.
Gina: No problema. I can do this.
Narrator: Gina went to turn around, refuel on coal, and water, and buffered up to her freight cars. The shunter fastened the coupling, the air brakes were released, and Gina was ready to go. But as Mia mentioned, her train was heavy. Gina's wheels slipped, and she didn't mover an inch.
Gina: *Stops her wheels* Let'sa try that again. *Moans while slipping for six seconds* Puoi farlo Gina. Non mollare.

But Gina's wheels kept slipping. This time, it went non-stop for ten seconds. Her cheeks were red, and she started to sweat from the hard work.

Gina: *Blows steam from her cylinder cocks, and slips again* I can't a stay here forever. I've got to move! *Closes her cylinder cocks, and continues to slip*
Narrator: Finally, Gina's wheels started to gain traction. She slowly pulled out of the shunting yard, and made her way to Bologna. The conductor was anxious, and so was Mia. Gina didn't know that she called me to help her. I didn't know that at first, but I was soon going to find out.
Thomas: *Stops seguinte to Mia at the shunting yard*
Mia: Thank you for getting here quickly. I need to ask you a favor.
Thomas: Anything Mia. What can I do to help the Italian Pacific?
Mia: I ordered Gina to pull seven freight cars loaded with stone to Bologna. She's taking them to build a new museum, but I'm afraid the train maybe too heavy for her. I saw her struggling for mais than 60 segundos before pulling out of the yard.
Thomas: Say no mais Mia. I'll go give her a helping hand.

Mia: You don't have hands, but I appreciate your efforts. Please get to her ASAP.
Narrator: And so I did. Well, I tried to anyway. I was really surprised that she went as far as she did. Luckily I found a segundo track parallel to Gina. I caught up to her a quarter mile away from a hill.
Gina: Thomas? What are you doing here?

The song fades away as Thomas explains his intentions.

Thomas: Mia asked me to help you. She's worried about you Gina. She saw your wheel slip display in the shunting yard.
Gina: Rubbish. I'm making it to Bologna all por myself.
Narrator: She accelerated away from me, but once she started going up hill, her speed decreased, and she had a hard time keeping traction.
Gina: *Slips as she stops to a standstill* Ah! *Blushes while rolling her eyes up* Oh!
Thomas: Gina, snap out of it!
Gina: *Blows steam while her wheels slip faster*
Narrator: To make matters worse, Gina slowly started to roll backwards with her train, but she kept making her wheels slip as they spun forward.
Thomas: Gina, you need help. You may not want to admit it, but I'm pushing you over this hill.

Thomas went to a switch, as Gina still tried to mover forward, but to no avail.

Gina: Devo superare questa collina, in fretta! *Continues to wheel slip as her train stops going backwards* Ah! Ah! Sto arrivando!
Narrator: When I returned behind Gina's train, I saw steam shooting out of her cylinders, and part of her boiler. She broke down, and I was too late to help her.
Thomas: *Pulls the train backwards* Gina, I'm sorry. Like I said, you need help.
Gina: Stavo venendo Bologna. Mi dispiace.
Thomas: I'm gonna have to leave you here. You're too heavy to come with me up the hill.
Gina: Thomas. You're intelligente.
Thomas: I may not know much Italian, but it sounds like you're calling me intelligent.
Gina: Yes. I'm sorry I got cocky. You know I amor museums, and I really wanted to do this all por myself.
Thomas: Hey. We live and learn. When I get back from Bologna, maybe we can pull a doubleheader.
Gina: Yes. I'd like that.
Narrator: And so, I left Gina in a siding while I went off with the stone to Bologna. I was a few minutos late, but the builders were very grateful to receive my stone. They wasted no time putting it to use to build the new Museum. When it was completed, I went with Gina.
Thomas: What do you think?
Gina: Oh, it's bellisima! I even see tracks going inside part of the building.
Thomas: That's because it's a railway museum. It's going to show off the wonderful heritage of your Railway, as well as every other railway in Italy.
Gina: Thomas, I'm really grateful for your help. As I said, I would've preferred doing this myself, but I'm glad to have a friend like you. You helped bring a beautiful piece of history to those who want to learn.
Thomas: So did you. You may not be strong, but you did pretty well considering the size of the train.
Gina: *Giggles* Well seguinte time, I'm going to have to bring you with me to climb those hills.
Thomas: My pleasure.

It really is crap with Michael Angelis narrating. He doesn't even try. Makes me wonder how he became narrator for 21 years.
