Exactly!! He's everything a girl could want in a guy, but at the same time, he's not a stereotype; he has his own unique personality. I definitely understand the attraction - but I'm a Sam girl nonetheless, ;)))

DEAN IS AWESOME!

It's true, most fans like Dean more than Sam. He's hilarious and a "bad boy" and still somehow "average" (you know, he's got a GED and a give 'em hell attitude, while Sam is college boy), he's very every man. Dean is Lynyrd Skynyrd's Simple Man. He's easy to identify with and overly amusing. But he's also got that dark tormented(tortured? heh) side that girls LOVE to fawn over.
BUT i love Sammy, yes i do, i love Sammy how bout you? i mean come on. He's smart, adorable, gigantic, innocent and evil at the same time, and that body... oh... those abs and that booty.
Definitely a Sam girl.

I love Sammy, but Dean's character ever since the first episode just drew me in a tad bit more. I loved his complexity. There was always more to him than met the eye, I thought. With Sam, at the beginning at least, it was more what you see is what you get. But I think it is their chemistry together and the scenes where they are together (which is a LOT lol) that make me love the show. They each play an equally important part and I wouldn't love it nearly as much if it was just Sam or just Dean.

I think so, but I disagree that Dean is less complex. I think he's actually more complex. He's tormented and twisted and has just as much of a dark center as Sam, but he's had to learn to hide it under a layer of humor and seemingly superficiality so thick it's hard to chip through. Sam's wall is thick, but nowhere near as thick as Dean's.

I didn't realize that most fans prefer Dean to Sam. I love them both but if I had to pick, it would definitely be Sam. I like that he is complex and dark. He can also be a complete nerd and that combined with the face and body is incredibly sexy. Sam has changed so much since the beginning of the show. He's grown up. The best thing about this show is the brother's relationship. It's the foundation and it may have some cracks but it's solid at it's core. Sorry, didn't mean to ramble on.

I'm in the minority who prefer Sam to Dean, but I have noticed that most are the other way round. I think there's a few reasons:

1. His appearance is more conventionally attractive, so he's the one most would find the hottest.
2. His bad boy personality at the start is also more attractive to the majority.
3. His story in the first few seasons was simpler than Sam's - no visions, no demon blood or demonic plan involving him - so people found him easier to empathise with. They saw him as the "every man" who was drawing them into the story.
