Clocking in at number five: Damon. Is. Alive. We won't say we told you so, but well, we told you so! TVD writers decided to keep the sexy and snarky vamp breathing -- for now. Whew! But what was actually shocking was that it was Klaus' hybrid blood that kept him from croaking.
Speaking of blood, that leads us to number four.... Stefan drank a lot of it. And we wouldn't be surprised if he's M.I.A. come fall because of it. Yep. Evil Stefan is back! He did the unthinkable and partnered with Klaus to secure a cure for Damon's oozing werewolf bite. And por that we mean he sat around sucking down bags of human blood like a frat boy at happy hour. Oh, and then he agreed to follow Klaus out of Mystic Falls. Yeah... that really happened.
Number three: vampiros can come back from the dead -- or so we think. While this could be good news in the case of Elijah or Aunt Jenna, the last few segundos of the finale showed two supposedly dead vamps circling poor Jeremy. Creepy! Maybe he's gon' cray-cray from, you know, almost dying — or maybe these are the "consequences" the witches told Bonnie about, or maybe there's a loophole that keeps vamps alive even after they've bitten the dust. Okay, let's be real: There's always a loophole with The Vampire Diaries.
At number two: Katherine and Elena have an Original. As in, they're both doppelgangers of one even older brunette beauty. What's more? Actress Nina Dobrev has hinted there's a possibility she'll play a third role. And oh, boy, could this spell some serious trouble for Damon. Three identical beauties on his hands and no Stefan around? What will he do? por the by, can we just say it? Damon and Elena kissed! Sure, it was while she thought he was dying and would never see him again, but still. We all know that's gonna change things between the two of them seguinte season... Delena apaixonados rejoice!
Finally, the number one thing you should know going into Season Three: It's been dubbed "The season of The Originals." Even before the epic finale, TVD producer Julie Plec told us Season Three will belong to the oldest vamps. And after Jeremy's little undead encounter, we wonder if that means some of Klaus and Elijah's five siblings will pop up to say hello. You know, those ones whose bodies Klaus supposedly has lying around somewhere? Maybe he wasn't fibbing when he told Elijah their fam was 'safe'.

“Can I come in? This talks so…weird, you know. And if Veronica sees us…” Stefan said warning.
“I’m not afraid of Veronica” Rachel said in such way it sounded like she meant the opposite.
Katherine was dragging Gabe’s corpse to the backside of Rachel’s house. She couldn’t get inside the house, so she opened the window to the basement and pushed Gabe’s body inside. She held his shoulders and let him down carefully. When she thought it was seguro she let go. The corpse fell on the basement floor, mute for a human ear, but as Katherine heard the thump, she figured Rachel would’ve too.
“Damn it” she mouthed. She stood and looked around. Rachel was nowhere to be seen and from what Katherine could hear, she was still listening philosophized to Stefan. If Rachel had heard anything, she sure didn’t suspect anything.
