As much as I like both Disney and the Moomins, I really can't see Disney ever having the rights to it. It just wouldn't be the same.

Well, if Disney have succeeded by obtaining rights to Moomins, I'm pretty sure that it would end up being similar to their Winnie the Pooh franchise by making the characters' designs faithful to their original designs in the books and comics, but I don't care if they will make it "too American", but then again, there are a lot of American companies who are Americanizing things, so it doesn't matter if it will end up to be the best or the worst adaptation ever made. I do still think that it will be better than the Russian animated adaptation in my opinion.
