Unfortunately, Martha seems to be an unpopular companion. People loved Rose and Doctor/Rose so much, they disliked the idea of a new person replacing her and also being in amor with the Doctor. They felt it threatened their pairing.
Personally, I prefer Martha a lot mais than Rose.
