An episode that should never have been made

I amor this show. I started watching this show around a mês atrás and I am currently watching 5th season. A lot of you might’ve guessed which episode I’m gonna rant about. I am talking about 5x19 “Hammer of Gods.”

<I am an Indian, Hindu.> Mata means mother.

If you remember the episode, the apocalypse was going on. And viewers were wondering- “What the heck are other Gods doing?” I was one of them. This episode tried to answer this question. I really hope they had left it unanswered though.

Things that bugged me---

(i) Do they really know anything about Hinduism Gods?

(a)    Shown in episode- Lord Ganesha is an elephant?!?
Lord Ganesha was shown to be an elefante in the episode. Either they were trying to make it funny or they did no research. I am guessing the second.
Fact- Lord Ganesha, son of Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati, has head of an elephant. It was used to resurrect him after Lord Shiva beheaded him, not knowing he was his son at the moment.

(b)    Shown in Episode- Lord Ganesha and Mata Kali were eating humans! I don’t really know what they were trying to say por showing this.

Fact- Lord Ganesha is quite known for his appetite…of sweets. Mata Kali being the chaste wife of Lord Shiva(I know I said his wife is Mata Parvati. Its complicated.) doesn’t accept non- vegetarian food. And they go all the way and show them devouring on humans!

(c)    Adulterous Gods!
Shown in episode
- Just when you think the episode cannot get any mais offensive, guess what! Mata Kali is having sex with an angel. I don’t know where anjos go after they die. Because wherever Gabriel went, he better stay hidden. If Lord Shiva ever finds him, apocalypse and Lucifer will be least of his problems.

Fact- Adultery is considered one of the biggest crime you can commit in Indian(Hindu) society. Unlike USA where adultery is punished(rarely) por $500 fine, its quite a crime in India. You loose respect in the society if word ever comes out. So showing a God of this religion and culture engaging in such act is offensive. Probably one of the worst thing they could’ve shown in the episode.

(d)    Are Hinduism Gods really that weak, Or is Lucifer really that powerful?

Shown in Episode- Lucifer does that telekinesis thing and Lord Ganesha’s brains blow off. I’m not going to concentrate on him. He was known for his wit and not his fighting skills though he did survive the ultimate and most powerful weapon in Hindu myth- The Brahamstra. What concerned me was the ease with which Mata Kali went down.

Fact- A god’s strength is basically decided por two factors- Their age and number of their worshippers.
cristianismo is around 2 millennia old, Hinduism is mais that 7 millennia old(factor almost 4 times.) 14% of world’s population is Hindu, 33% is Christian(factor almost 2.5 times). Its simple calculation. Do the maths.
Mata Kali is considered one of the most powerful Hinduism God, seconding probably only to Lord Shiva. But Lord Shiva is another case. All he need to do is open his third eye to bring on the apocalypse( or Pralaya).
Notice another thing. It says a “God’s” strength in increased por the number of "worshipers" they have. First, Lucifer is not God. And he certainly doesn’t have 2 billion worshipers. So he is just an overpowered angel. An overpowered angel, who took down one of the most powerful God in existence, worshipped por almost a billion people in one single blow. Good one.

Things said in the episode bugged me as well. For the first time I hated Dean’s smart mouth. When a God who you worship is called a dick repeatedly, it gets a little bit offensive, right? According to the brothers, every God except cristianismo god are dick and should be hunted down.

Man, the show makers were a bit lucky that American TV shows are not popular in India. This episode might’ve become a problem for them.

 John & Dean
John & Dean
In my artigo I'm going to talk about a devoted husband & father John Winchester.

John began his hunting "career" on approximately November 2, 1983, following the death of his wife. His primary goal, as a hunter, was to kill the Yellow-Eyed Demon: Azazel, for murdering the mother of his children. Living with Dean twenty-two years later, he mysteriously vanishes and Dean is forced to recruit his brother, Sam. Through many obstacles and life-threatening challenges, the two brothers overcame the sobrenatural and eventually met up with their father. Although powerful and all-knowing, John's...

Dean held his hands tightly against his ears, but Cas’ screeching still found its way in. The door opened and Meg appeared.
“Sam needs you in there. He wants to try again” she said with heavy voice. She walked past him to the bathroom.
Dean entered the room and froze at the sight of Cas’ mutilated body.
“Are you with me, Dean?” Sam asked sharp. Dean inhaled deeply through his nose.
“Let’s just get it over with” he replied.
“Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, omnis congregatio et secta diabolica...”...
