Not Your Typical Country Girl Chapter Forty Two
I took a load of manure outside of the celeiro and I noticed Finn walking this way.
"Having a good day?" He asked rudely.
"Not really." I said as I sat the wheelbarrow down. "What about you?"
"Me neither. You wanna know why?" He asked. "Because you left your horse out and we had to get up really early to kill him, bury him, and do some of your chores while you go off on a joy ride!"
"Well thank you for doing all that." I said grateful. "But it was an accident!"
"Sure it was!" He said as he rolled his eyes.
"Just go away." I said as I pushed him away from me.
Finn shoved me back so I pushed him harder. seguinte thing I know, I am on the ground and the wind has been knocked outta me. I sucked a quick breath of air back into my lungs as I tried to fight back the best I can. I felt pain por my mouth but I wasn't sure what had caused it.
Tucker's POV
I walked towards the celeiro to go see if Harmony needed any help. I know she took a little bit of time off this morning so we could bury her horse. I felt bad for her. I knew she felt terrible about if. Harmony really loved that horse. A lot! It was her first best friend she had made here.
I got closer to the celeiro and I saw two people wrestlin' around. It was Finn and Harmony! Harmony was sitting on topo, início of Finn and had her left fist back really to deliver a punch.
"Okay you two, that is enough," Clay yelled loudly from the celeiro door.
Harmony looked over at Clay and Finn got a soco to her stomach. She gripped her stomach as she rolled off of him.
I have no idea what to do. I am shocked that they were fighting. I thought Finn knew better than that.
"Finn! Seriously?" Clay yelled annoyed.
Harmony slowly got up and nailed him por his eye. It barely affected him and he had tackled Harmony again.
I ran over to them, wanting to help Clay break the fight up. I pulled Finn up and stood in between him and Harmony.
"What are y'all doin'?" Clay asked confused. "Why are y'all fightin'?"
"Nothing." Finn mumbled.
"It was a misunderstanding. Right Finn?" Harmony said as she wiped blood from lip.
"Right." Finn grumbled as he looked at the dirt.
"Harmony don't you cover up for Finn." Clay demanded.
"Why are you always taking her side? Ever since she got here, you've been taking her side on every little thing!" He said angry. "It's like you don't care about your real sibling!"
"That is not true Finn! I care the same amount for you as I do for Harmony, Lance, or Dustin!" He stated.
"Well, it doesn't feel like it." Finn whispered as he looked back at the ground.
"I'm sorry that it seems that way." Clay said as he hugged Finn. "So, are y'all gonna tell us what the fight really was 'bout?"
"I don't know what you're talkin' 'bout." Harmony said as she lied through her teeth.
"Harmony, you know the fight where you got that bloody lip and soco to your stomach." I said. "We saw the whole thing so don't lie!"
"Right." She said as pressed her lips together. "That one."
"You don't haveta lie." Finn stated. "We got into a fight because I was mad I had to get up earlier and do her chores while she had fun."
"Harmony, will you give us a minute?" Clay asked Finn sighed.
"Look Finn, the only reason why I asked to take Harmony away from here is because she's a girl. Girls are mais sensitive when it comes to things like this." Clay said. "If she wasn't a girl, she would have been helping us."
"I guess since she is out here working and riding bulls, I forget that she's not always tough." Finn said a bit embarrassed.
"Don't let her fool you. She is tough when she needs to be but when she's alone, Harmony isn't that tough." I added. "Nothin' to be embarrassed about. Girls are complicated."
"You've got that right." Finn said laughing.
"Not go get some ice for that eye. We need ya to see what you're doin'." Clay said a bit demanding.
"How am I gonna explain this to mom and dad?" Finn asked nervously. "They always told me not to hit a girl!"
"Well, she did hit back." I said. "Maybe he'll understand?"
"Doubtful but good luck!" Clay added.
Harmony's POV
I went inside the house to get some ice for my lip and to try to get it to stop bleeding.
"Sweetheart, what happened to ya?" Abigail asked worried.
"Me and Finn got into a fight." I said as I shrugged my shoulders. "But it's alright. We are fine now!"
"Who started it?" She asked angry.
"Well I started the fight. He started the argument." I stated.
"Harmony, girls do not fight." Abigail stated. "We are suppose to be ladies no matter the situation!"
"Well, ladies don't touro ride either so I guess I'm not a lady." I said as I grabbed the bag ice and headed for the door.
"Mom, I need some ice." Finn said as he came though the door.
"Hey Finn." I said as I passed him.
"Hey." He said chuckling.
I head back towards the wheelbarrow I had left.
"Where did you learn to fight?" Tucker asked as he scared me.
I looked over to my right and saw Tucker swinging on the porch.
"Why are you impressed?" I asked giggling.
"A little bit. I didn't think you had it in you. I figured you would be the type to fly in stead of fight." He said seriously.
"Depends on the situation." I stated. "You want some tea?"
"No ma'am, I'm alright." Tucker said as patted the assento beside him.
I went over and sat seguinte to him.
"Nice day, huh." I said awkwardly.
"How are you?" He asked suddenly.
"Well, my mouth is alright. However, my stomach is hurting." I said.
"I wasn't talking 'bout the fight." Tucker stated as he glanced at me. "How are you since the accident?"
I looked over at him. I wasn't sure if I could say it without letting on that I was hurting.
"I better get back to work." I said softly.
I got up and walked toward the wheelbarrow once again.
I couldn't bare letting Tucker know I am hurting. It would be hard to tell him without crying my eyes out. It would be hard to tell anyone. I mean Clay caught me crying that was bad enough. Much less Tucker or Abigail catching me cry over a horse.
I stuck the ice bag under my camisa once as I got closer to the celeiro and the wheelbarrow. It was really cold but it felt nice on this hot day. I glanced back to the porch and saw Tucker staring at me but then Finn walked out on the front porch.
All the sudden I heard my phone ringing but I didn't feel it vibrating. I looked around on the ground as saw my phone lying there. I went over and answered it quickly.
"Hello." I said.
"Hey Harmony, it's Isaiah." He said. "I'm heading about an hora and a half east of here for a rodeo. Do you wanna go?"
"Oh hey! Yeah I would amor to go!" I said. "When will you be here?"
"Around 3." Isaiah said.
"Okay. Well then I better go finish cleaning the stalls." I said. "See you then!"
"Okay bye." He said and then he hung up.
Yes! Another rodeo!
